German aid is underway following the devastating flash floods in the Himalayan border region between Nepal and Tibet. The German government has pledged financial support and is co-funding the EU’s €2 million in emergency humanitarian aid, providing assistance through the Disaster Relief Fund of the International Red Cross & Red Crescent and the UN Emergency Fund (CERF).

German NGOs are also providing emergency assistance on the ground through local networks to deliver food, clean drinking water, medicines, and emergency shelter where help is needed most.

Germany stands ready to provide further assistance in cooperation with international partners. We express our deepest sympathy to all those affected.

We now know that Russia is responsible for the attempted explosive attack at Leipzig airport. Russia’s repeated hybrid attacks on Germany and Europe are unacceptable. Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul and Interior Minister Alexander Dobrindt underscored today in Berlin the continued threat hybrid attacks pose to European and transatlantic security.
The Federal Government has outlined a response — details in the video.
We thank all our partners and allies who have voiced their support and solidarity during this time.

Congratulations to our long-term member Siemens Mobility on being shortlisted for the Development Phase of the Newcastle to Sydney High Speed Rail project!

The ARC Joint Venture, comprising Siemens Mobility, Siemens Mobility GmbH and Mott MacDonald Australia, has been selected to participate in the Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) process following a competitive process. The consortium is among three shortlisted proponents that will help develop and design Australia's first high-speed trains and rail systems.

Siemens Mobility already has a strong track record of delivering major rail projects in Australia. Most recently, its first metro train for the Sydney Metro – Western Sydney Airport project arrived in Australia, marking an important milestone towards delivering a new metro connection for Western Sydney.

With this latest achievement, Siemens Mobility continues to demonstrate how German engineering and technology can contribute to Australia's future transport infrastructure. The Newcastle to Sydney connection would be another significant step towards a future high-speed rail network, bringing together international expertise and Australian capabilities.

A fantastic achievement and an exciting opportunity for Siemens Mobility and its partners. We wish the entire team all the best for the next stage of this landmark project!

We are proud to see our long-term members contributing their expertise to projects that are shaping Australia's future and strengthening the ties between Germany and Australia.

Siemens Mobility will also be exhibiting at our upcoming Parliamentary Showcase in Canberra, where German businesses will have the opportunity to showcase their technologies and solutions directly to Australia's policymakers. We can't wait to see the team there and experience Siemens Mobility's expertise up close!

🇦🇺🤔 Quick question: How many Sydney landmarks can you spot on this year's marathon medal?
The Harbour Bridge? ✅
The Opera House? ✅
A world-famous stadium...? Well... sort of. 😅
Eagle-eyed runners noticed that the 2026 TCS Sydney Marathon finisher medal features a rather unexpected guest: Munich's Allianz Arena instead of Sydney's Allianz Stadium.
But don't worry, you don't have to run all the way to the Allianz Arena in Munich! The course is still only 42.195 km long.
Good luck at the 2026 Sydney Marathon!

Viel Erfolg beim Sydney-Marathon 2026!
