Outsource Fiji recently represented Fiji at the Contact Centre Symposium Symposium held at the Rydges Resort Hunter Valley in Australia, as part of its ongoing efforts to promote Fiji as a trusted, competitive and people-focused outsourcing destination for the Australian and New Zealand markets.

The delegation was led by Outsource Fiji Executive Director, Mr Josefa Wivou, and included Manager Corporate Affairs, Ms Shivika Patel, and Marketing and Communications Consultant,
Mr Pravin Narain.

The symposium brought together customer experience leaders, contact centre operators, outsourcing specialists, business executives, technology providers and industry decision
makers from across the region.

The event provided an important platform for Outsource Fiji to engage directly with potential clients, partners and stakeholders exploring customer support, back-office, digital and shared
services solutions.

Outsource Fiji Executive Director, Mr Josefa Wivou, said the organisation’s participation reflected Fiji’s growing recognition as an emerging outsourcing hub in the Pacific.

“This symposium was more than just an event for us. It was an opportunity to take Fiji’s outsourcing industry directly to the people and organisations shaping the future of customer experience in our region,” Mr Wivou said.

“Fiji has a strong and compelling value proposition. We have a skilled English-speaking workforce, strong cultural alignment with Australia and New Zealand, a service culture built on warmth and empathy, and a growing base of capable outsourcing providers already delivering quality services to international clients.”
Mr Wivou said Fiji’s outsourcing sector had evolved beyond being viewed solely as a contact centre destination, with local providers now delivering a wider range of services including customer experience support, back-office processing, finance and accounting, human resources support, IT-enabled services, data processing, digital support and other specialised
business functions.

“The global outsourcing industry is changing. Companies are no longer looking only for cost savings. They are looking for trusted partners who can deliver quality, agility, business continuity and genuine customer care. Fiji is well positioned to meet these expectations,” he said.
“Our goal was to demonstrate that Fiji is not only a beautiful tourism destination, but also a serious business destination with the talent, infrastructure and commitment needed to support
international companies.”

During the official visit to Australia, Outsource Fiji also undertook a series of business-to business (B2B) engagements with potential clients, industry leaders and strategic partners.

“We viewed these business-to-business engagements as an important opportunity to build genuine relationships and hold meaningful conversations with organisations looking for
reliable outsourcing partners,” Mr Wivou said.

“It was important for us to sit at the table with potential clients and business leaders, understand their operational needs, and demonstrate how Fiji can deliver value through quality service,
skilled talent and strong customer engagement capabilities.”
“Beyond promoting Fiji, these discussions also allowed us to better understand global industry trends, changing customer expectations and the areas where Fiji can continue strengthening its competitiveness. Every conversation created an opportunity for collaboration, investment and long-term growth for our outsourcing sector.”

Outsource Fiji continues to work closely with its members, government partners, industry stakeholders and international networks to grow the sector and position Fiji as a preferred
outsourcing destination in the Pacific.

The organisation remains committed to supporting industry development, strengthening Fiji’s global competitiveness and creating sustainable opportunities for Fijians through the
continued growth of the outsourcing industry.

The Contact Centre Symposium was held from May 12 to 13 at the Rydges Resort in Hunter Valley.

Fiji High Commission and Fiji Trade & Investment New Zealand Promote Fiji-Made Products at the Convenience & Impulse Retailing NZ Expo 2026

The Fiji High Commission in New Zealand, in collaboration with Fiji Trade Office, today reinforced its commitment to promoting Fiji-made products and strengthening trade partnerships during a visit to the Convenience & Impulse Retailing NZ Expo held at the Due Drop Events Centre in Manukau, Auckland.

The delegation was led by Fiji’s High Commissioner to New Zealand, His Excellency Ratu Inoke Kubuabola, and accompanied by Second Secretary Mr Kanakatakata, Business Development Manager Mr Kritesh Maharaj, and Consular Officer Mr Emosi Simolo.

The event focused exclusively on business-to-business (B2B) engagements for registered retailers and distributors and provided a valuable platform for networking with key industry decision-makers from across New Zealand’s retail sector.

Representing Fiji proudly at the expo was Panpac Distributors Ltd, the New Zealand subsidiary of the CJ Patel Group and one of the largest distributors of Fiji-made products in New Zealand. The company has a strong presence across major retail outlets including Foodstuffs, Woolworths, and Costco.

Panpac strategically showcased a wide range of Fiji-made products alongside major retail industry players.

General Manager of Panpac Distributors Ltd, Mr Rajiv Prasad, highlighted the importance of engaging directly with retailers, distributors, petrol station operators, and dairy owners to expand the visibility and market reach of Fiji-made products throughout New Zealand.

Discussions also highlighted the current challenges facing the sugar market supply chain and the importance of strategic investment to enhance brand value and long-term sustainability, rather than competing solely on price.

Panpac NZ further reflected on the company’s longstanding investments and partnerships with trusted regional brands through the CJ Patel Group, including the introduction of Samoa’s Vailima brand into the New Zealand market, underscoring the importance of value creation in an increasingly competitive retail environment.

The Fiji delegation also witnessed firsthand the growing interest in Fiji-made products, with one operator of Caltex service stations agreeing in principle to stock Fiji’s popular signature Bongo products across 12 service station outlets.

The Fiji High Commission and Fiji Trade Office reaffirmed their commitment to actively engaging in trade promotion initiatives and participating in strategic platforms that create greater economic opportunities and deliver long-term benefits for Fiji and its exporters.

The Fiji Trade Office will continue to support key partners such as Panpac Distributors Ltd and other Fiji-based exporters and distributors in strengthening market access, expanding retail presence, and promoting Fiji-made products across New Zealand and other international markets through strategic partnerships, trade promotion activities, and ongoing engagement with retailers and distributors.
