Do you know the F.A.S.T. warning signs of stroke?

Our Allied Health and Nursing team spent Stroke Awareness Week (3 -9 August) raising awareness among staff and community with a hospital stall.

They shared the signs and symptoms of stroke and highlighted the importance of prevention. Every minute counts during a stroke, and early recognition and treatment can significantly improve outcomes and reduce long-term disability.

Remember the F.A.S.T. warning signs of stroke:
• Face drooping
• Arm weakness
• Speech difficulty
• Time to call Triple Zero (000)

Confession time... when was the last time you replaced your toothbrush? 👀

Dental Health Week is your friendly reminder to refresh your oral health routine. Looking after your oral health isn't just about having a bright smile, it's an important part of your overall health and wellbeing.

Here are a few simple ways to keep your smile healthy:
- Brush twice a day with a fluoride toothpaste 🪥
- Floss your teeth every day and change your toothbrush every 3 months or when it looks worn 🦷
- Drink plenty of tap water and limit sugary or alcoholic drinks 💧
- Aim for a healthy, balanced diet 🥗
- Visit your dentist for regular check-ups, usually every 6–12 months 📅
- Avoid smoking or va**ng 🚭
- Reduce stress, as it can contribute to teeth grinding, mouth ulcers and cold sores. 🧘

Your future smile will thank you. 😁

Did you know that most Australians support organ and tissue donation, but only one-third have registered?

If that’s you, take a minute to register as an organ and tissue donor at donatelife.gov.au or through Medicare.

Every year people die waiting for a transplant. One organ donor can save the lives of up to 7 people and change many more through eye and tissue donation.

Join the register at DonateLife : https://www.donatelife.gov.au/register-donor-today
