Friending Staff on Facebook
Please note that the Department of Education and Communities has this advice for teachers 'Friending' parents on Facebook:
The line between your professional and personal life could become blurred making it difficult to manage your professional relationship with the parents when that becomes necessary. You also need to bear in mind that becoming a Facebook friend with a parent could result in their children getting access to your account as well. You also need to be mindful that you need to be careful what you say on Facebook if you have parents as friends as comments made online can be misunderstood and could result in parental complaints made to your principal. In short, please do not ask to friend a member of staff on Facebook as refusal often offends

The sun was shining ☀️ for Year 1, and we were very lucky to welcome the rangers from Kamay Botany Bay Environmental Education Centre to Burraneer Bay.

Students enjoyed viewing taxidermied animals 🐾, exploring mini-beasts preserved in resin 🐜, and learning about the fascinating features of ants. Our little scientists were engaged, curious, and excited throughout the experience 🔍✨.

A huge thank you to Dylan and Bonita for bringing the National Park to us and sharing their knowledge with our students! 🌿👏

Year 4 had a great day at Kamay Botany Bay National Park, Kurnell! 🌿
We enjoyed spotting kookaburras during our bushwalk, walking along the beach looking for shells, and using our mapping skills to recreate and map the bay. 🐚☀️
It was a fun day of learning and exploring outdoors! ☺️

Congratulations to Eden and Layla from Stage 3 on their outstanding achievements in the Sutherland Shire Schools Music Festival Art Competition! 👏👏
Layla's artwork, Together as One, was selected as a Finalist, while Eden's artwork, Connected by Music, was chosen as the Overall Winner from entries submitted by schools across the Shire. 🌟🌟
This year's theme, Family, celebrates connection, belonging and community. ❤️ Both artworks will be displayed in The Pavilion foyer throughout the festival in August, featured in the digital program and website, and showcased on the screen at the beginning of each concert. What an incredible honour!
A special thank you to Mrs Singleton for facilitating this wonderful opportunity for our students through her lunchtime art classes. We are proud of all the students who dedicated their time, creativity and effort to preparing artworks for the competition.
Well done everyone! ❤️

This morning our Boys State Knockout Soccer Team played their 3rd round State Cup match against Yarrawarrah. In a nervous opening sequence Ben saved a certain goal, pushing the ball onto the post. 🥅 It wasn’t long after that Jackson took the ball onto the halfway line and set Xavier up for the first goal. ⚽ From there we saw goals from Blake, Mavi (2), Tayden and another goal for Xavier. A great all-round performance! 👏 The full match report will be in next week’s newsletter. Thank you to Mr Quinn for coaching our team. Let’s go boys! 💚❤️
