A meeting of the NSW IT Cluster was held today under the chairmanship of HE Irfan Shaukat High Commissioner of Pakistan. The session reviewed ongoing initiatives and discussed ways to further strengthen engagement between Pakistan’s IT sector and the Australian technology ecosystem.

The High Commissioner appreciated the Cluster’s efforts and emphasized the importance of enhancing collaboration and market access for Pakistani IT companies in Australia. It was agreed to expand the cluster to include maximum participation of the professionals.

Consul General Mr. Qamar Zaman and Deputy Consul General Ms. Shanza Faiq held a productive meeting with Ms. Jugni Chaudhary and Ms. Abida Malik.

The discussion focused on the importance of highlighting the work of Pakistani female artists and the role of art, culture, drama, and literature in strengthening connections within the Pakistani diaspora in Australia. The Consul General appreciated their contributions in promoting Pakistan’s rich cultural heritage and reaffirmed the Consulate’s commitment to providing a platform for showcasing and supporting Pakistani artists and cultural initiatives in New South Wales.

Mr. Imtiaz Ahmed Khan, CEO of Ghani Glass, a leading glass manufacturing company of Pakistan, called on the Consul General of Pakistan in Sydney, Mr. Qamar Zaman.

During the meeting, discussions were held on expanding business opportunities, strengthening Pakistan–Australia trade relations, and exploring potential market linkages in Australia.

The Consul General appreciated Ghani Glass for its contribution to Pakistan’s industrial and export sector and encouraged continued efforts to promote Pakistani products in the Australian market.

Mr. Rashid Chughtai, President of the Pakistan Dental Traders & Manufacturers Association (PDTMA) and owner of Chughtai Dental Studios and Chughtai Anaplastology, visited the Consulate General of Pakistan in Sydney and met with the Consul General of Pakistan, Mr. Qamar Zaman, and Deputy Consul General, Ms. Shanza Faiq.

During the meeting, discussions were held on promoting Pakistan's dental manufacturing industry, exploring opportunities for collaboration between Pakistan and Australia in the healthcare and dental sectors, and strengthening business and professional linkages between the two countries.

The Consulate General of Pakistan, Sydney, appreciates the contributions of Pakistan's dental industry and remains committed to facilitating greater trade, investment, and sectoral cooperation between Pakistan and Australia.

The Consul General of Pakistan in Sydney, Mr. Qamar Zaman, visited Global Sourcing Expo Sydney 2026 and met with the Pakistani exhibitors participating in the event.

A total of six companies from Pakistan are showcasing their products at the Expo:

* Sportica Group

The companies are exhibiting a diverse range of streetwear, clothing, sportswear, safetywear and sporting goods, highlighting Pakistan's growing strengths in the textile and sports manufacturing sectors. To acknowledge and appreciate their participation, the Consulate also hosted a dinner in honour of the Pakistani exhibitors attending the Global Sourcing Expo Sydney 2026.

Mr. Sufi Javed, a respected senior Pakistan community member, along with Mr. Kashif Rasool called on Mr. Qamar Zaman, Consul General in Consulate General of Pakistan, Sydney, today. Mr Javed is presently visiting Sydney as he relocated to Perth a while ago.

During the meeting, discussions were held on matters relating to community engagement, welfare of the Pakistani diaspora, and strengthening ties among the wider Pakistani community across Australia.

The Consul General appreciated Mr. Javed’s longstanding association with the community and acknowledged his valuable insights and contributions toward fostering stronger community connections.
