Warehouses tend to change faster than the line marking on their floors. New equipment goes in, layouts shift, pick routes get redrawn, and the marking quietly falls a step behind without anyone noticing.

If it's been a while since your floor was reviewed against how the site actually runs today, that's worth a look.

Have there been any changes on your warehouse floor lately?

Perhaps new equipment, a different pick route, extra racking, or a shift in how forklifts and people move through the site?

If so, it's worth checking your Traffic Management Plan is still up to date, and that the line marking on the floor still matches it.

Wet weather isn't the only thing that affects how safe a surface feels underfoot. A few other factors play a part too:

❌ A sealer or topcoat added over existing line marking, often just to freshen up the look
❌ Poor or missing surface prep before the marking went down in the first place

Neither of these shows up on a dry day. Both can affect grip once it rains.

If you're worried your pedestrian crossings or high-traffic walkways might be slippery in wet weather, especially in a warehouse or commercial space, don't wait for an incident to happen.

Get in touch, and we'll help you sort it before it becomes a problem.

☔We're in the middle of a cold, wet stretch across the country. For outdoor line marking, especially in high-pedestrian areas, that means an increased risk of slips once the surface is wet.

If your line marking is looking worn or feels slippery underfoot, it might be time for a touch-up or a re-mark before the next downpour makes the call for you.

Not all line marking coatings are built for the same job. A high-traffic warehouse floor, with constant forklift and pallet movement, needs a long-life product built to handle that load.

The right coating for a warehouse isn't the same as the right coating for a car park. Match the product to the traffic, and it lasts a lot longer.

Having car park hardware installed and having it installed properly are two different things.

A bollard drilled in where it was easy, not where the traffic really is. A wheel stop set too far forward, so cars still stick out over the walkway. It’s all there and looks fine, but it’s not really protecting what it should.

With hardware, installing it and placing it correctly are not the same thing.

A car park isn't just a place to store vehicles. It's a traffic system.

Entry flow, one-way aisles, loading zones, pedestrian paths—all of it guides hundreds of movements a day without anyone thinking about it. When the marking is clear, everything runs smoothly on its own.

When it’s not clear, you get traffic jams, wrong turns, and near-accidents during busy times.

Here’s something you don’t usually think about: every day, your line marking quietly helps prevent accidents.

A clear walkway, a well-marked forklift lane, and a crossing people can see. These keep people and vehicles apart without anyone noticing. The near-misses that don’t happen? You never hear about those.

You only notice when the lines have faded, and something finally goes wrong. Line marking is the safety measure nobody thinks about until it’s missing.

Some sites are just harder on their lines than others.

A busy warehouse with constant forklift traffic. A car park that never really goes quiet. A loading dock working around the clock. In a spot like that, line marking takes a beating, and if it's not built to handle it, you're back out there repainting before you know it.

That's exactly what long-life products are for. They're made to withstand heavy, constant traffic, so your lines stay clear and your site stays safe for longer between repaints.

If that sounds like your site, contact us about your requirements. And we'll walk you through the options.
