Police Transport Command - NSW Police Force

Police Transport Command - NSW Police Force The NSW Police Force now assumes full responsibility for policing the State’s Transport Network. We are moving into exciting and challenging times.

The face of transport policing has just had a massive shift with the establishment of the Police Transport Command (PTC). By the end of 2014 the PTC will consist of 610 sworn officers who will bring major improvements to policing outcomes on our transport corridors. The Command is recruiting energetic and enthusiastic frontline officers who will actively police bus, ferry, taxi and rail transport,

with the goal of reducing crime. Police attached to the PTC will have full policing capabilities to deal with crime and anti-social behaviour, in response to the most up-to-date intelligence. The PTC will support all NSWPF commands and communities by patrolling into known trouble areas, whilst keeping a vigilant eye across the transport network to reduce the threat of terrorism. The command will continue to grow and work in partership with key government agencies towards its purpose in reducing crime and improving customer service.
