🏁 CANBERRA KART RACING CLUB – ROUND 2 CHAMPIONSHIP
Race #16 of 2026
Cadet 12 Rookies – Chayse Attard
Canberra, ACT
BRP Motorsports made the trip to the nation’s capital for Round 2 of the Canberra Kart Racing Club Championship, with Chayse Attard looking to continue his strong form in the Cadet 12 Rookie category.
Saturday’s program consisted of practice sessions around the challenging 1100-metre circuit as Chayse and crew chief Greg Stanley worked hard to dial the kart in and build confidence ahead of race day.
However, Practice 2 brought a major setback when Chayse became involved in an on-track incident that saw his kart launched violently into the air before crashing heavily back to the ground. The impact resulted in an ambulance trip to hospital for precautionary checks.
Thankfully, Chayse was later cleared and released from hospital, making an incredible return to the circuit that same afternoon. With the help of the BRP Motorsports crew and fellow competitors, the damaged kart was straightened and repaired well enough for Chayse to complete the remaining practice sessions.

Sunday Race Day
After the frightening crash less than 24 hours earlier, simply taking to the track on Sunday was a remarkable achievement.
Qualifying in 4th position, Chayse immediately showed he had lost none of his speed, racing wheel-to-wheel with the front runners throughout the day. Despite driving a kart that was still carrying the scars of Saturday’s accident, Chayse continued to push hard and even recorded the fastest lap in one of the heats.
Displaying tremendous determination and courage, he fought with the leading pack all day and narrowly missed a podium finish, crossing the line in 4th place in the Final—just 0.623 seconds behind the race winner.
A performance that proved not only his speed, but also his resilience and determination to never give up.

👏 A Weekend of Character
While a podium may have narrowly slipped away, this weekend was about much more than trophies. To bounce back from a major accident, return to the track, and challenge for victory against the best in the field was a testament to Chayse’s courage, determination, and racing spirit.
