Green Living Centre

Green Living Centre The Green Living Centre is a sustainability initiative of Inner West Council.

We deliver free workshops and events to inspire and educate residents to create a Sustainable Inner West. We also attend festivals, and in 2020 coordinated a range of talks and webinars for Footprints Online. The Centre is bursting with sustainable goodness and runs free workshops, talks, personal advice and simple ideas for everyday sustainable living.

These relaxed public sewing circles are all about repairing, refreshing and reimagining your favourite pieces alongside fellow community members.

Bring along a garment that needs a small repair, alteration or creative update, and be guided by Ryder Spankie in a welcoming, hands-on space. Whether you’re sewing for the first time or already handy with a needle and thread, everyone is welcome.

Time for a household clear-out? ♻️🔋

Sort through your home, garage or shed and safely dispose of unwanted household chemicals and broken electronics for free at Inner West Council’s Household Chemical Cleanout & E-Waste Event.

Chemicals that can’t go in your household bins will be safely processed, while old electronics will be recycled responsibly.

Please note:

Not your usual clothes swap, you’ll have access to more than 8,000 items with plenty of time to browse the racks, try things on and chat with fellow fashion lovers.

How it works:

👕 Bring up to 6 clean, good-quality clothing items
🎟 Receive vouchers based on the number of items you bring
🛍 Use your vouchers to swap for “new-to-you” pieces

Come any time between 10am and 2pm. Our check-in team will assess your items for swapping, so feel free to grab a refreshment and have a chat while you wait during busy periods.
