What is reconciliation?

At its heart, reconciliation is about strengthening relationships between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and non-Indigenous peoples, for the benefit of all Australians.

For Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, Australia’s colonial history is characterised by devastating land dispossession, violence, and racism. Over the last half-century, however, many significant steps towards reconciliation have been taken.

Reconciliation is an ongoing journey that reminds us that while generations of Australians have fought hard for meaningful change, future gains are likely to take just as much, if not more, effort.

In a just, equitable and reconciled Australia, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children will have the same life chances and choices as non-Indigenous children, and the length and quality of a person’s life will not be determined by their racial background.

"…a reconciled Australia is one where our rights as First Australians are not just respected but championed in all the places that matter…" ~ Kirstie Parker, Co-Chair

"Reconciliation must transcend Australian political theatre and promote a sense of national unity…" ~ Patrick Dodson

⚽️ U15 Boys Football – Bill Turner Cup Success! ⚽️
Our U15 Boys Football team has secured a 2–0 victory over William Clarke College today, progressing to Round 3 of the Bill Turner Cup Knockout 👏

Jai F and Zachary P (Year 9) each found the back of the net, giving the team an early advantage. From there, it was all about composure, focus, and determination, with the boys holding strong throughout the second half to keep a clean sheet 💪

We are incredibly proud of the resilience and tenacity shown by this team and can’t wait to see how they continue in the competition 🔥

A big thank you to Mr North for stepping in to accompany and coach the team today on behalf of Mr Nosworthy 🙌

We’re incredibly proud to see one of our own recognised in the community, with Year 11 student Alice Wilson featured as an ANZAC Dawn Service Ambassador in the Hills to Hawkesbury Community News.

Ambassadors have made fantastic progress and are set to shine at the Dawn Service. It’s wonderful to see their efforts gaining attention, including a feature in the article below and on the Hills to Hawkesbury page.

Alice’s involvement reflects the values of respect, service and remembrance that are at the heart of ANZAC Day. We commend her for representing our school and community with such pride.
