We let Jack out of Lane Cove for the day, and things got a little wild! 🦜😂
Our reporter Jack Kelly headed to Bargo to visit Feathered Friends, an incredible bird sanctuary where hundreds of black cockatoos are getting a helping hand, and the freedom to spread their wings.
He met founder Ravi Wasan, a man on a mission to save Australia's threatened black cockatoos, and witnessed something pretty spectacular: hundreds of these magnificent birds taking to the skies in free flight.
And here's the surprising part. Despite its extraordinary conservation work, the sanctuary receives no government funding!
So why did we venture beyond the Cove?
Because yellow-tailed black cockatoos have been making appearances in the skies above Lane Cove, and their future is closely tied to how we protect our local bushland and habitat.
