Macquarie Fields Highway Patrol is part of the Traffic and Highway Patrol Command's South West Metropolitan region. The section has a fleet of 12 cars, a motor cycle and a designated highly visible RBT truck. The primary focus of our section is to promote the free flow of vehicular and pedestrian traffic and to reduce the number of serious and fatal motor vehicle collisions on our roads. In order

to achieve our objective our staff utilise a fleet of high performance sedans fitted with the latest Automated Number Plate Recognition technology, Radar and Lidar speed detection equipment along with alcohol and drug testing devices. Staff are deployed across the road network to provide a highly visible deterrent to drivers to reduce the number of incidents associated with alcohol and drug impaired driving, speeding and non wearing of restraints.
