Pass it on Clothing & Co

Pass it on Clothing & Co Local Sydney Charity with DGR providing clothing + connection to those experiencing homelessness.

Pass it on Clothing & Co is a registered Australian Charity with DGR status based in Sydney which puts your apparel, shoes and accessories donations directly in the hands of those who need it most.

Founded in September 2016 by Chris Vagg and Olga Puga, Pass it on Clothing & Co has been instrumental in providing quality men’s and women’s clothes donations to Sydney’s homeless community, working

to make charitable clothes giving more direct, efficient and effective.

The idea for Pass it on Clothing & Co stemmed from a house move for Chris and Olga and a resulting wardrobe cull. Many of the pieces to be thrown away were expensive and near new and needed to be given a new appreciative owner.

Chris began researching traditional charities and was struck by the fact only 0.5% of donated clothing was directed to welfare. The other 99.5% are the best clothes, kept and sold in charity stores, many are cut up into rags or sent overseas for resale.

This sparked the idea of taking clothing directly to Sydney’s homeless and disadvantaged community by setting up a free clothes service. Pass it on Clothing & Co takes clothing donations directly to those doing it tough, allowing people to visit and select new clothing directly.

Olga, as a professional stylist, offers compassion and support when helping people select the wardrobe pieces.

Pass it on Clothing & Co offers this service free of charge.

Pass it on Clothing & Co has now provided over 350,000 pieces of clothing to those experiencing homelessness over the last 9 years at more than 1000 outreach services.

The benefits are truly positive, not only physically, but by also impacting the self-esteem and self-worth of the recipients.

The next step for Pass it on Clothing & Co is to provide a pathway out of homelessness into sustainable private employment + housing via The Pass it on Academy.

Its like putting a bandaid over a cut and then the bandaid comes off, you put another one on, the bandaid comes off, the cut doesn’t get better, you put another bandaid on and repeat.

For 10 fu***ng years….

It’s kinda frustrating when we could do so much more right now to help vulnerable people…

“Australia already has the evidence, the expertise and the public support needed to make serious progress on homelessness. What remains is the willingness to align those assets behind a single, clear objective.”

After 10 years in this space we know the reason: there’s no will from the political establishment because they don’t believe there are any votes in it.

It’s that simple sadly…

They. Don’t. Care.

Last night in Parramatta, we opened the back of the ute and created something simple but powerful: choice.

As people arrived, they looked through clothing, found what they needed, and left with more than just a jacket, jumper, or pair of pants.

They left feeling seen.

Every outreach reminds us that dignity isn’t complicated.

Sometimes it’s having warm clothes on a cold night.

Sometimes it’s being able to choose something that feels like you.

Sometimes it’s just knowing that someone showed up.

To everyone who supports our work, thank you.

Your generosity is helping restore confidence, comfort, and human connection to people doing it tough across our city.

Last night, the racks were full, the footpath was busy, and the need was impossible to ignore.

At Central Station, dozens of people stopped to browse, choose, and take what they needed.

Jackets, jumpers, shirts, pants, not handed out at random, but selected with dignity and choice.

For many, it wasn’t just about clothing.

It was about finding something that fit, something that felt right, and being treated like a person, not a problem.

Every item on these racks was donated by someone who cared, sorted by our team and chosen by someone who needed it.

This is why we do what we do.

Clothing. Confidence. Dignity.

Thank you to everyone who donates, volunteers, and supports Pass it On Clothing & Co.

Your generosity is helping people face another day with warmth, confidence, and a little more hope.

Introducing One Level.

More than a store, One Level is the retail extension of Pass it On Clothing & Co. — a place where fashion, purpose, and opportunity come together.

Every purchase helps fund clothing outreach for people experiencing homelessness and supports pathways into education, training, and employment through the Pass it On Academy.

We believe everyone deserves access to quality clothing, confidence, and choice. One Level creates a space where people can shop with purpose, knowing their purchase helps someone else take a step forward.

One Level. Style with impact. Clothing with purpose. Confidence for all.

Last Tuesday at Central Station, the racks were busy.

People took their time.

Looking through the clothing, comparing options, finding something that felt right for them.

Because dignity starts with choice.

Not a handout.

Not a random bag of clothes.

The opportunity to choose a jacket, a shirt, or an outfit that reflects who you are.

Every week we see the same thing: when people are given choice, they stand a little taller.

The clothing matters.

The dignity matters more.

Clothing. Confidence. Dignity.

How many more headlines do we need before someone in government decides this is an emergency?

Every day politicians walk past people sleeping in doorways, under awnings and on train platforms.

Every day.

Not invisible.

Not hidden.

Not hard to find.

They see them.

What they don’t seem to have is the courage, urgency or political will to do anything meaningful about it.

Sydney’s homelessness crisis didn’t appear overnight.

It is the predictable result of years of housing failures, soaring rents, inadequate mental health support, broken social safety nets and governments treating homelessness as a PR problem instead of a human one.

Behind every number is a person.

A father sleeping in his car.

A woman fleeing violence.

A teenager with nowhere safe to go.

A worker who simply couldn’t keep up with rent.

While governments argue, announce reviews, form committees and issue media releases, thousands of people are trying to survive another night on the streets.

That should shame every elected official in this city.

The real scandal isn’t that homelessness is rising.

The real scandal is that we’ve become accustomed to it.

A wealthy city should not have people sleeping on concrete while buildings & apartments sit empty.

A compassionate society should not force people to beg for basic dignity.

And a government that claims to care should be judged by what it does for the people with the least, not the loudest.

Homelessness is not a lifestyle choice.

It is a policy failure.

And every person sleeping rough tonight is living evidence of that failure.

Enough excuses.

Enough announcements.

Enough photo opportunities.

People don’t need more promises.

They need homes.

They need support.

They need action.

And they needed it years ago…
