Celebrating our amazing SASS & SLSOs

This week is SASS Recognition Week and Greystanes High School would like to celebrate and acknowledge the incredible care, kindness, dedication and hard work our School Administrative and Support Staff (SASS) and School Learning Support Officers (SLSOs) provide every single day. Their commitment to supporting students with additional needs makes a meaningful difference in the lives of our students, families and the wider school community.

SASS Recognition Week is a wonderful opportunity for us to pause, acknowledge their efforts and simply say thank you for everything you do.

This year’s theme says it perfectly: “School Administrative & Support Staff: Our jobs, your children, their future.” Thank you for the compassion you show, the encouragement you provide and the countless ways you help our students learn, grow and thrive.

GHS appreciates you and all the support you provide teachers, Head Teachers and the Senior Executive team.

A huge thank you to Ms Dunsing and Ms Gurung for giving up their time to support our students at the event. We are incredibly grateful for the encouragement and support you provide our students which allows them to share their culture, stories and talents.

🖤💛❤️ A Day of Connection, Culture and Community ❤️💛🖤

Last week, we were proud to welcome Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students from our local feeder primary schools to Greystanes High School for a wonderful day of connection, learning and fun.

Students enjoyed a range of hands on activities, including damper making, gardening and cultural crafts, while spending time together and building new connections. 🌿🪶

It was fantastic to see students sharing, learning and having fun together throughout the day. We hope each student left GHS with a deeper sense of connection to culture, community and one another.

A big thank you to all of our visiting students and staff for joining us. We loved having you at Greystanes High School and hope to see you again very soon!

Our Year 9 students had a fantastic day at Western Sydney University as part of the Western Sydney Fast Forward Program!

Students experienced university life, explored future study and career pathways, and participated in a range of interactive activities focused on the future of energy and sustainability.

A definite highlight was Malik taking the mic and rapping about energy, sharing an important message about how young people can become change agents and make choices that shape the future of energy consumption!

It was wonderful to see our students learning, collaborating, stepping outside their comfort zones and thinking about the role they can play in creating a more sustainable future.

Check out the video for some highlights from the day -- including Malik's memorable performance!
