In Sydney, ANZAC Day is synonymous with Uncle Ray Minniecon — ADF veteran, pastor, Elder.

A man whose grandfather rode as a Light Horseman at Beersheba.

This morning, a small but vocal group booed his Acknowledgement of Country at Martin Place. They were drowned out — immediately and overwhelmingly — by sustained applause from thousands who know what this day actually stands for.

Uncle Ray’s response was dignified, as you’d expect: “They just need to realise their place in this country.”

The booing was shameful. The response from thousands of Australians was not.

We love you, Uncle Ray. 💛🖤❤️

Vale James Valentine - what a devastating loss for us all, but especially his family and loved ones.

I’ll always be so grateful to James for allowing me to be his first Exit Interview on his new segment on ABC Sydney when I left local government.

He was so profoundly thoughtful, wise and clever - whilst always letting humanity shining through. Lots of love to everyone today.

The Liberals have lost 33 seats over the last two elections, with 26 of those in urban areas … because of their inability to accept the science around the danger of global warming.

🎈For those of you who are Labor members! 🎈

I’m volunteering to be elected to Labor's National Policy Forum – the body that shapes Labor’s platform for the future - to ensure our party remains bold, inclusive, and focused on delivering fairness and equality for all Australians.

I am also running with fantastic left candidates 🏆 Monika Wheeler 🏆 and 🏆 Peter Moss 🏆. It’s important to ensure a progressive majority on the National Policy Forum, so I encourage you to also preference Monika and Peter.

I’ve always worked to amplify grassroots voices, including as Co-Convenor of Labor for Refugees. I bring experience, commitment, and a progressive vision for Labor’s future.

Ballots will arrive this Monday 11th August - I’d be so grateful for your support!
