What an incredible night for our Year 5 students at the Dancesport Challenge!
After rehearsing since the beginning of the year, our students finally had the opportunity to put months of hard work into action, performing in front of a full house at Sydney Olympic Park alongside students from approximately 30 other schools.
From the Jive and Cha Cha to the Tango and more, our students danced with confidence, enthusiasm and style. We are incredibly proud of the way they embraced the experience and supported one another both on and off the dance floor.
Dancesport is about so much more than learning ballroom dancing. The program promotes respectful relationships, student wellbeing, confidence, resilience, teamwork and a healthy lifestyle, supporting the broader wellbeing goals of NSW public education.
An event like this takes an enormous team effort. Thank you to our parents, families and friends who made the trip and supported our students throughout what was a very exciting โ and late! โ evening.
A very special thank you to Mrs May, Ms Derbyshire and Mrs Williams and our administration team for the many hours of preparation, rehearsals and support that made this opportunity possible. We also extend our appreciation to the wonderful team of staff and parents who assisted with costumes, hair and makeup, helping our students look and feel ready to shine.
Most importantly, congratulations to our Year 5 dancers. Months of rehearsals, plenty of perseverance and one very special night on the dance floor โ you should be extremely proud!
