Every family has moments waiting to be uncovered: the migrant journey, the mystery photograph, the unexpected connection, or the ancestor whose story changes how you see yourself.

📚 Join us this Wednesday evening for a special online Book Club event with Society Fellow Heather Garnsey OAM as we explore Unravelled ... The Life of Elizabeth Fulloon, Superintendent of the Parramatta Female Factory, 1824–1827. All welcome and FREE for members: https://www.sag.org.au/event-6562535

Described by Governor Darling as a woman of “extraordinary bodily strength and energy of character,” Elizabeth Fulloon’s story offers a fascinating window into women, power and resilience in early colonial New South Wales.

From her Huguenot roots in London to her appointment as Superintendent of the Parramatta Female Factory, this compelling discussion will uncover the realities of one of the colony’s most significant institutions for women, the tensions that shaped it, and the dramatic events leading to the Riot of October 1827.

Whether your interests lie in women’s history, colonial Australia or the untold stories behind familiar historical events, this is a wonderful opportunity to hear directly from the author and ask your own questions.

Now is the time to transform that spark into something enduring.
