The Consulate General of the Arab Republic of Egypt in Sydney is pleased to announce the launch of the exceptional edition of the Egypt Mining Forum (EMF), held under the patronage and in the presence of His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Arab Republic of Egypt, on 28–29 September in the New Administrative Capital.

The Forum comes within the framework of Egypt’s ongoing efforts to achieve a transformative development in the mining sector, enhance investment attraction, and maximize the utilization of Egypt’s vast mineral resources, in support of sustainable economic development goals and Egypt’s position as a promising regional hub for mining industries.

The Forum is expected to witness broad participation from senior officials, leaders of mining and energy companies, international investors, and industry experts, in addition to showcasing the investment opportunities available in Egypt and the positive developments taking place in the Egyptian mining sector.

القنصلية العامة فى سيدنى تنظم فعالية موسعة مع ممثلى مجتمع الأعمال والشركات الاسترالية لدعم الاستثمار فى مصر

نظمت القنصلية العامة لجمهورية مصر العربية في سيدني فعالية موسعة مع ممثلي مجتمع الأعمال والشركات الاسترالية المختلفة، وذلك في إطار جهود القنصلية العامة لتعزيز التعاون الاقتصادي بين مصر وأستراليا وتشجيع الشركات الاسترالية للاستثمار فى مصر واستكشاف الفرص المتاحة للتعاون بين البلدين.

وقد شارك فى الفعالية رجال أعمال ومستثمرين أستراليين من قطاعات التمويل والتعدين والطاقة والصحة والتعليم والعقارات والطاقة المتجددة، إلى جانب ممثلين عن جهات مصرية شاركوا فى الفعالية افتراضيا من ضمنها الهيئة العامة للاستثمار والمناطق الحرة، ووزارة التجارة والصناعة، والمنطقة الاقتصادية لقناة السويس، والمنطقة الاقتصادية للمثلث الذهبي، والهيئة المصرية العامة للثروة المعدنية، إضافة إلى رئيس مجلس الأعمال المصري - الأسترالي.

وأكدت ريم زهران القنصل العام لجمهورية مصر العربية في سيدني أن الاجتماع يأتي ضمن جهود القنصلية العامة لتوسيع قنوات التواصل مع مجتمع الأعمال الأسترالي، والترويج للفرص الاستثمارية في مصر، وتعزيز الشراكات الاقتصادية بين البلدين الصديقين، مشيرة إلى أن الفعالية ستكون بداية لسلسلة من الفعاليات تعتزم القنصلية تنظيمها بين ممثلى مجتمع الأعمال والشركات الاسترالية مع الجهات المصرية لاستكشاف فرص التعاون ودعم الاستثمار الاسترالى فى مصر، اخذا فى الاعتبار ان هناك امكانات وفرص غير مستغلة للتعاون، وأنه لا يزال هناك مجالاً واسعاً لتعزيز الشراكة الاقتصادية بين البلدين وتوسيع نطاق التجارة والاستثمار وخلق تعاون اقتصادي أكثر منفعة وتنوع.

شهدت الفعالية تقديم عروض تفصيلية من ممثلى الهيئة العامة للاستثمار والمناطق الحرة، والمنطقة الاقتصادية لقناة السويس، والمنطقة الاقتصادية للمثلث الذهبي، والهيئة المصرية العامة للثروة المعدنية حول المقومات الاستثمارية فى مصر، وحزم الحوافز الممنوحة للمستثمرين، والتطورات الاقتصادية في مصر.

وفي ختام اللقاء، أكدت ريم زهران القنصل العام لمصر في سيدني أن القنصلية ستواصل متابعة مخرجات الاجتماع والعمل على تسهيل التواصل بين المستثمرين والجهات المعنية في البلدين، بهدف تحويل النقاشات إلى مسارات تعاون عملية ومخرجات منتجة خلال المرحلة المقبلة.

The Consulate General in Sydney Organizes a Business Event with Australian Companies to Support Investment in Egypt

The Consulate General of the Arab Republic of Egypt in Sydney organized an event with representatives of the Australian business community and various Australian companies, as part of its efforts to strengthen economic cooperation between Egypt and Australia, encourage Australian companies to invest in Egypt, and explore available opportunities for cooperation between the two countries.

The event brought together Australian business leaders and investors from sectors including finance, mining, energy, healthcare, education, real estate, and renewable energy. It also included virtual participation from representatives of several Egyptian entities, including the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (GAFI), the Ministry of Trade and Industry, the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZone), the Golden Triangle Economic Zone, the Egyptian Mineral Resources Authority (EMRA), as well as the Chairman of the Egyptian–Australian Business Council.

Reem Zahran, Consul General of the Arab Republic of Egypt in Sydney, emphasized that the meeting forms part of the Consulate General’s efforts to expand channels of communication with the Australian business community, promote investment opportunities in Egypt, and strengthen economic partnerships between the two friendly countries. She noted that this event marks the beginning of a series of initiatives the Consulate plans to organize, bringing together Australian business representatives and companies with Egyptian entities to explore opportunities for cooperation and support Australian investment in Egypt. She highlighted that significant untapped potential and opportunities for cooperation remain, and that there is still considerable scope to strengthen economic partnerships, expand trade and investment, and create more diversified and mutually beneficial economic cooperation.

The event featured detailed presentations by representatives of GAFI, the Suez Canal Economic Zone, the Golden Triangle Economic Zone, and the Egyptian Mineral Resources Authority on Egypt’s investment landscape, investor incentive packages, and the latest economic developments in Egypt.

At the conclusion of the event, Reem Zahran, Consul General of Egypt in Sydney, reaffirmed that the Consulate General will continue to follow up on the outcomes of the meeting and facilitate communication between investors and relevant stakeholders in both countries, with the aim of transforming discussions into practical avenues of cooperation and productive outcomes in the period ahead.

القنصل العام في سيدني تشارك في الاحتفال بمرور 30 عاماً على تأسيس مجموعة أصدقاء مكتبة الإسكندرية في أستراليا

شاركت السيدة/ ريم زهران، القنصل العام في سيدني في الاحتفال بذكرى مرور ثلاثين عاماً على تأسيس مجموعة أصدقاء مكتبة الإسكندرية في أستراليا، برئاسة السيد لورنزو مونتيسيني، وبرعاية السيد بوب كار، وزير الخارجية الأسترالي الأسبق.

وشهد الاحتفال الإعلان عن انضمام المتحف القومي للحضارة المصرية إلى مجموعة المتاحف المصرية التي تشملها أنشطة مجموعة الأصدقاء، بما يعكس الاهتمام المتزايد بإبراز ثراء وتنوع التراث الحضاري المصري.

ومثّل اللقاء فرصة لإبراز أهمية مدينة الإسكندرية باعتبارها ملتقى للحضارات والثقافات ومركزاً تاريخياً للفكر والعلم، وما تمثله مكتبة الإسكندرية من صرح حضاري وفكري يسهم في تعزيز الحوار الثقافي والتبادل المعرفي بين الشعوب.

Consul General in Sydney Participates in the Celebration of the 30th Anniversary of the Friends of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina in Australia

Mrs. Reem Zahran, The Consul General of Egypt in Sydney participated in the celebration marking the 30th anniversary of the establishment of the Friends of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina in Australia, chaired by Mr. Lorenzo Montesini and held under the patronage of Mr. Bob Carr, former Australian Minister for Foreign Affairs.

The celebration also witnessed the announcement of the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization joining the group of Egyptian museums included in the Friends Group’s activities, reflecting the growing interest in highlighting the richness and diversity of Egypt’s cultural heritage.

The event also provided an opportunity to highlight the significance of Alexandria as a historic crossroads of civilizations, cultures, and intellectual thought, as well as the enduring role of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina as a leading cultural and intellectual institution dedicated to fostering dialogue, advancing knowledge, and strengthening mutual understanding among peoples.

The Consul General emphasized in her remarks the Consulate General’s readiness to support various initiatives that contribute to strengthening cultural and civilizational ties between Egypt and Australia, based on the shared values and longstanding human and cultural connections between the two countries.

في إطار جهود الدولة المصرية لتعزيز الاستثمار الصناعي وجذب الاستثمارات الأجنبية، تدعو وزارة الصناعة المستثمرين ورجال الأعمال للاطلاع على الطرح الثالث للمصانع الجاهزة بمدينة الجلود بالروبيكي، والمخصصة لصناعة المنتجات الجلدية النهائية، بالإضافة إلى عدد من المحلات الخدمية.

ويأتي هذا الطرح في إطار خطة الدولة لدعم قطاع الصناعات الجلدية وتطوير مدينة الروبيكي لتصبح مركزاً إقليمياً متكاملاً لصناعة الجلود في مصر والشرق الأوسط.

القنصلية العامة في سيدني تشارك في فعالية Squash NSW للترويج لرياضة الاسكواش في استراليا

شاركت السيدة/ ريم زهران، القنصل العام في سيدني في الفعالية الترويجية التي نظمتها Squash NSW، بحضور السيد/ Steve Camper وزير الرياضة و التعددية الثقافية بحكومة ولاية نيو ساوث ويلز، وذلك في إطار دعم وتعزيز انتشار رياضة الاسكواش في أستراليا.

وتأتي هذه الفعالية في توقيت هام، مع إدراج لعبة الاسكواش ضمن منافسات أولمبياد لوس أنجلوس 2028، والاستعداد المبكر لأولمبياد بريسبان ٢٠٣٢.

وقد أكدت القنصل العام خلال المشاركة على ما حققته مصر من إنجازات عالمية غير مسبوقة في رياضة الاسكواش، حيث يتصدر اللاعبون المصريون التصنيفات الدولية ويقدمون نموذجًا يُحتذى به في التميز الرياضي. كما أعربت عن التطلع لتعزيز أوجه التعاون وتبادل الخبرات مع الجانب الأسترالي، بما يسهم في تطوير اللعبة ونشرها على نطاق أوسع.

The Consulate General in Sydney Participates in Squash NSW Promotional Event

Ms. Reem Zahran, Consul General in Sydney, participated in a promotional event organized by Squash NSW, attended by Mr. Steve Kamper, Minister for Sport and Multiculturalism in the Government of New South Wales. The event was held in the context of supporting and promoting the sport of squash in Australia.

This event comes at an important time, following the inclusion of squash in the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games and in preparation for the Brisbane 2032 Olympics.

During her participation, the Consul General highlighted Egypt’s unprecedented global achievements in squash, noting that Egyptian players currently top international rankings and represent a model of sporting excellence.
