We assist women and their children to find long-term housing.

Bayside Women's Shelter provides safe, temporary supported crisis accommodation (up to 3 months) for women and children in times of homelessness or escaping domestic and family violence.

For many women, leaving violence can also mean leaving behind their home, financial security and support network. Domestic and family violence remains one of the leading drivers of homelessness for women and children in Australia.

That is why safe accommodation is so important. A shelter provides more than a roof over someone's head. It provides safety, stability and the opportunity to rebuild.

This EOFY, Bayside Women’s Shelter is raising funds to furnish a new shelter and expand our capacity to support local families. Together, we can help ensure more women and children have access to safety when they need it most.

As we approach the end of the financial year, we are asking our community to help support women and children escaping domestic and family violence across Bayside 🧡

For many women escaping domestic and family violence, safety is something most of us take for granted. A locked door. A safe bed. The ability to sleep through the night without fear.

When women arrive at Bayside Women’s Shelter, they are often carrying the weight of uncertainty, trauma and the difficult decision to leave violence behind. A safe place to stay can be life changing, providing not only immediate protection, but the opportunity to begin rebuilding a future.

At Bayside Women’s Shelter, we provide crisis accommodation and ongoing support so women and children in our community have somewhere safe to turn during moments of crisis.

This End of Financial Year, Bayside Women’s Shelter is preparing for a significant and much-needed next step. We are opening a new shelter so we can support even more women and children escaping domestic and family violence across our community 🧡

But we need your help to make it possible.

Furnishing a new shelter means creating a safe, welcoming and functional space where families can begin again with dignity and security. We are currently raising funds for essential items including beds, fridges, washing machines, security measures and other household necessities that help turn a building into a safe home.

This is an important moment for Bayside Women’s Shelter and for the safety of women and children in Bayside. With community support, we can expand our impact and ensure more families have access to the protection and support they need during times of crisis.

As a registered charity, all donations over $2 are fully tax deductible and you will receive an immediate receipt for your 2026 tax return.

Domestic and family violence continues to impact far too many women and children across Australia and within our own community. At Bayside Women’s Shelter, we see the ongoing need for practical support, safe accommodation and essential care for families rebuilding after violence. 🧡

We are incredibly grateful to once again be partnering with St George District Netball Association for their upcoming Food and Linen Drive on Saturday 30 May 2026 🏐

This year, we are most in need of:
🥛 Long life milk
🍎 Snacks for school lunch boxes
🌮 Meal kits
🧁 Boxed baking mixes
🫙 Condiments and oils
🛏️ New pillows
🛌 Doonas and doona covers
