⚠️ As the days and nights get colder, remember never to use outdoor heaters or barbecues indoors. These devices produce invisible, odourless carbon monoxide gas that can kill without warning.

Using them indoors or in poorly ventilated spaces can cause carbon monoxide poisoning, with symptoms including headache, nausea, dizziness, collapse or worse.

If you suspect exposure, call the Poisons Information Centre on 13 11 26, or Triple Zero (000) in an emergency.

If you need an interpreter, call TIS National on 131 450 and ask to be transferred to the Poisons Information Centre.

Stay safe and always use outdoor devices outside.

Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) is a common virus that usually causes mild cold-like symptoms, but older adults are more likely to become very unwell, develop pneumonia, or need hospital care. RSV can also make conditions like asthma, COPD and heart failure worse.

The RSV vaccine helps reduce the risk of severe illness, even if it doesn’t completely prevent infection.

Today is National Sorry Day. We acknowledge, with deep respect, the Stolen Generations Survivors – who were forcibly removed from their families, communities, culture and Country as children.

We also honour in remembrance the Survivors who have passed and pay respects to their families and communities who continue to carry their deep loss and ongoing grief.

At NSW Health, today is an opportunity to pause, reflect, and better understand the needs of Stolen Generations Survivors. Through our commitment to standing together with compassion and respect, we can help build a future where the health and wellbeing of Survivors and their descendants is supported with dignity, equity and respect.

The artwork featured is ‘Healthy Living’ by Uncle Richard Campbell, a Stolen Generations Survivor from the Kinchela Boys Home, symbolising harmony with our natural fauna and flora and the interaction of the various players that will bring about healthy living now and for future generations.

- stomach pain
- diarrhoea
- hallucinations.

Some mushrooms can cause liver or kidney failure and death.

If you think someone has eaten a poisonous mushroom:
- Call the Poisons Information Centre on 13 11 26 immediately any time – do not wait for symptoms. If you need an interpreter, call TIS on 131 450 and ask to speak to the Poisons Information Centre.
- In an emergency, call Triple Zero (000) for an ambulance or go to your nearest hospital emergency department.
