Blaxland Bushfire Brigade's first fire tanker was a 1943 4x4 ex-RAAF CMP Blitz. This vehicle was transferred to a neighbouring brigade in 1968, eventually making it to southern rural NSW to serve as a farm vehicle. In the 1990's it was purchased at auction by a historic vehicle enthusiast who coincidentally lived in the mid mountains and also had a connection with the Bushfire service. When the si

In December 2016 it became available, and it was secured with the idea in mind of returning it to roadworthy condition and using it to promote the work of the Rural Fire Service in the lower mountains.
