After sharing a simple Facebook post about her husband David's frontotemporal dementia, Vickie was overwhelmed by the kindness and support she received from her community. What started as an effort to help others understand dementia turned into a powerful reminder that compassion still exists everywhere around us.

From strangers taking the time to chat with David, to people offering to bring their dogs for him to meet, the response showed how small acts of kindness can bring moments of joy, dignity and connection to someone living with dementia.

It's a beautiful story about community, empathy, and seeing the person behind the diagnosis.

Take a few minutes to read Vickie and David's story:

Hidden disabilities are described as conditions that are not immediately apparent to others but still significantly impact a person's daily…

Hi everyone we are still seeking some volunteers to understand people’s experience in accessing services for care and support following a diagnosis of younger onset dementia.

What’s involved?
We invite you to take part in a 30 minute online survey enquiring into your first-hand experience of navigating access into the NDIS. The survey can be completed by people living with young onset dementia, their family members and/or carers, as well as formal support workers or service providers.

Your insights could help improve support for others.

If you would like to participate in this study, please visit this link or scan the QR code on the photo:

Have you or someone you know been diagnosed with young onset dementia (onset < age 65)?

We’re conducting a research study on Australian's experiences accessing care and support (e.g. the NDIS) after diagnosis.

Finding voice through loss: how a gift is empowering dementia care at the Brain and Mind Centre.

We’re honoured to be able to share the personal story of Siân Jarrett. Her generous philanthropy has been instrumental in supporting the provision of speech therapy to so many through FRONTIER’s Speech Pathology Clinic, the PPA Communication Project.

On behalf of all those we work with in the clinic, thank you Siân.
