This post certainly looks that way. Get ready for more of this theatre by the radical racist right.

At the heart of the battle for free speech is section 18C of the Racial Discrimination Act. Barnaby was right, it needs to be scrapped. The impact that section 18C has had on free speech in this country and democracy has been chilling. Pauline’s recent court battles have made this very clear. Robust political debate is critical for our democracy.

Barnaby was also right to point out that, like on so many issues, some of the Liberals are prepared to talk a good game on this in private, but they do not have the courage or the political backing to make their views public.

Section 18C makes it unlawful to act in a way that is reasonably likely to offend, insult, or intimidate a person because of their race or nationality. The way it is written allows broad interpretation and opens the door for it to be weaponised for political ends.

In appealing to the High Court, Pauline is fighting for all Australians who are likely to get drawn into the tentacles of section 18C through exercising their right to free speech.

'Numbers don’t convince people. Stories do. Facing the Numbers puts Australians in the shoes of five First Nations people harmed by the legal system – grounded in truth-telling, and in the strength of people still protecting Country, culture and community despite it.'

We've been shining a light and sharing with you all the senseless and tragic killing of Gomeroi man and father of four, Mark Mason Snr by a NSW Police Force officer in 2010.

πŸ‘€πŸ‘€πŸ‘€
The 'Death in Custody' (DIC) was investigated through a Coronial Inquiry in 2013 where all five(5) of the police officers involved in Mark's death were cleared of any wrong doing.

βœ…βœ…βœ…
Mark Jnr, Steven, Darlene and Trent, Mark's four children have been fighting for Police accountability and justice ever since. They are calling for a new and totally independent investigation into the Police shooting, causing death of their father.

Very sad that we are going BACKWARDS in relation to child incarceration rates for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders. Is it just us or have we been TALKING about this issue forever? Making the same mistakes over and over and over again, having all these people working in that space, having all that money spent over the past thirty(30) years, having all these Inquires, Coronial Inquests, Parliamentary Inquires, Royal Commissions, and all the hundreds of recommendations made... WHY CAN'T WE FIX THIS? WHY ARE WE GOING BACKWARDS?
