Take a look at these beautiful photos of Grey Butcherbirds captured by in Lachlan Swamp 📸🍂 Grey Butcherbirds are more often heard than seen - their lovely lilting calls being heard throughout the year, often as duets between pairs which can sound like a single bird singing 🎵 They are also known for being very territorial and likely to swoop when protecting their chicks - these birds look well occupied though!

Today we're appreciating this gorgeous photo of a Flooded Gum in Centennial Park by 📷

Eucalyptus grandis, also known as Flooded Gum or Rose Gum, and can be seen along Carrington Drive in Sandstone Ridge. 🍃 They're closely related to Eucalyptus saligna the Sydney blue gum and are often mistaken for each other. The fibrous bark around the base is a beautiful feature of the tree, contrasting against the the tall smooth trunk.

🌳 New tree alert! 🌳 We're thrilled to introduce three new Brachychiton rupestris, also known as Queensland Bottle Trees, to the Duck Pond opposite Spruce Goose Diner ✨

In 2017, three bottle trees were removed from the Homestead precinct as they suffered from a soil borne disease, and our team were keen to keep this diverse and interesting species in the park. The Bottle Tree is an iconic species in the Australian landscape and the installation of these three specimens at the Duck Pond will add character, colour and become a focal point of the area. Look out for them next time you're strolling through the park!
