Turning kindness into action! Congratulations to Southern Cross Catholic College Burwood student William Webster, recipient of the The Order of Australia Association NSW Branch 2026 Youth Community Service Award! 👏

The prestigious award recognises young people who go above and beyond to serve their communities, demonstrating initiative, generosity and a strong sense of responsibility. And Will is certainly doing just that.

At 15, Will began volunteering, sparking a passion for giving back that has seen him dedicate countless hours to organisations including the Sydney Children’s Network, Trish MS Foundation, DANII Foundation and FSHD Global Research Foundation, as well as fundraising and community initiatives at his College.

But Will’s commitment to service hasn’t stopped with his own contribution. He has inspired friends to join him, including volunteering for the Walk for Kids with Cancer in March 2026, and has become a strong role model for community spirit among his peers.

In June 2025, Will took his passion for helping others one step further, launching Impact One, a website designed to connect young people with volunteering opportunities and a community of like-minded people, helping those who might feel nervous or unsure about where to begin.

His dedication has already earned him 2025 North Shore Young Volunteer of the Year, a finalist position in the 2026 Burwood Council Volunteer Recognition Awards, and a nomination for the NSW Young Volunteer of the Year Award for the second time.

Faith, connection and community were at the heart of this year’s 10:10 Conference.

Good Samaritan Catholic College welcomed 1,400 students from across Sydney Catholic Schools for a day of reflection, celebration and shared faith.

Through inspiring speakers, student-led presentations, Praise and Worship, Adoration and interactive activities, students were encouraged to deepen their faith and connect with young people from across our schools.

What can students achieve when creativity, curiosity and teamwork come together?

At this year’s Tournament of Minds, Sydney Catholic Schools students tackled complex challenges, tested new ideas and developed imaginative solutions under pressure.

Congratulations to Domremy College Five Dock whose Language Literature and Social Sciences teams both achieved Second Place Honours at the International Finals.

The students created an original radio play series for young audiences and developed a strategy for an ethical charity T-shirt fundraiser that balanced financial, environmental and social considerations.

We are proud of every student who participated, challenged themselves and represented their school with enthusiasm and confidence. 💙

One faith, many traditions.

This week, more than 210 Year 6 students from our Auburn–Lakemba network visited three Eastern Catholic places of worship across Sydney.

The pilgrimage gave students an opportunity to experience the rich traditions of the Eastern Catholic rites and reflect on the unity of our universal Church as we journey towards the International Eucharistic Congress.

Thank you to everyone who welcomed and supported our students throughout the day.

Congratulations to the Year 5 students from Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Primary School Sefton, who have won the national FUSE Cup Blockbuster Build Challenge.

The team impressed judges with their creative design, storytelling and presentation, demonstrating exceptional collaboration and problem-solving skills.

Striving for more on the track, in the field and for one another. 🏅The SCS Athletics Championships brought together 1,800 athletes from all 147 Sydney Catholic Schools for a day of competition, teamwork and outstanding sportsmanship.

Students embraced the spirit of Magis by challenging themselves, pursuing personal bests and supporting their teammates with generosity and sportsmanship. Congratulations to every athlete who competed. We also wish those progressing to the CCC selection trials and the MacKillop selections in September every success.
