🚒 Firefighters Remembrance Day | 10 October

Today, we honour the 60 firefighters who have lost their lives protecting Queensland communities since 1877. ❤️

We remember their courage, sacrifice, and the families and colleagues who continue to carry their legacy.

We also recognise the importance of supporting our firefighting community, including organisations such as Queensland Fire Legacy Inc and the Firefighters Cancer Foundation Australia , who provide vital support to firefighters and their families.

From all of us at Tamborine Rural Fire Brigade, never forgotten, always remembered.

Our Tamborine Rural Fire Brigade volunteers showed up for the Wongawallan community this weekend, not because they were needed on the fireground, but because sometimes showing up matters just as much.

Fire brings communities together in ways you never expect. Different brigades, different communities, different uniforms, all standing beside each other when it counts.

Today was about saying thank you, sharing a cuppa, hearing stories and reminding everyone that when things get tough, we don't stand alone. We show up, we help where we can, and we look after each other. ❤️‍🔥

🔥 WONGAWALLAN FIRE | COMMUNITY REMINDER 🚒

Our Tamborine Rural Fire Brigade volunteers were among those responding to the recent Wongawallan fire, working alongside other crews to help protect our local community.

While our volunteers are out there responding, it’s a good reminder that bushfire season doesn’t wait for us to be ready.

🌿 Clear leaves and debris from around your home
💧 Check hoses, pumps and water supplies are working
🚗 Know more than one way out of your property
📱 Keep an eye on Queensland Fire Department warnings and have a Bushfire Survival Plan
👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Talk to your family now about what you’ll do if a fire threatens.

The best time to prepare for a bushfire is before there’s smoke on the horizon.

Stay alert, stay informed and look after your neighbours. ❤️‍🔥

🚒💛 Happy Father's Day, Tamborine! 💛🚒
Today we celebrate all the dads in our community, especially those who give their time, make sacrifices, and quietly put others before themselves.

To our Rural Fire Brigade dads who leave their families to answer the call, and to every dad in our community who shows up, lends a hand and helps keep Tamborine strong, we see you, we appreciate you, and we thank you.

As we enjoy Father's Day with family and friends, please remember that fire danger remains elevated today. Conditions can change quickly, so we encourage everyone to stay vigilant, avoid activities that may cause a spark, and report any signs of fire immediately.

🔥 RFSQ Week done right!🔥

While we're always ready to answer the call, this week we got to *stand down*, spark a few conversations, fuel up on great food and enjoy the company of the people who have our backs every single day.

Volunteering isn't just about fighting fires. It's about building friendships, supporting each other through the tough jobs, and taking the time to recharge so we're ready when our community needs us next.

A huge shout out to Walton Hotel for turning up the heat with your incredible generosity and hospitality. Your amazing staff kept the good vibes burning all afternoon and made our volunteers and their families feel genuinely welcome. You absolutely ignited a fantastic afternoon, and we can't thank you enough! 🔥👏

To every RFSQ volunteer, partner, child and supporter who came along, thank you. Behind every volunteer is a family that sacrifices weekends, holidays and precious time together, and today was a chance to give a little of that back.

Here's to the people who run towards the smoke, but know the importance of taking a moment to enjoy the calm between the calls.
