It is with a sad heart that we share that one of our members, Dave Wilson, passed away on Monday 17 August.

Dave joined our brigade in October 2015, becoming a volunteer firefighter that December. In his time in the brigade, Dave attended 272 incidents and was part of the Taradale Tanker crew that went on a Strike Team to Mallacoota in 2019, for which he received a national emergency medal. Dave even had a go at being Captain Koala for the Good Friday Appeal.

Thank you for your service Dave. Rest in peace mate ❤

Our thoughts and love are with Dave's beloved, Margaret, in this challenging time.

There will be a celebration of Dave's life on Saturday 12 September in Northcote.

With all the rain we have had yesterday and overnight, there is flooding on some roads around Taradale and maybe in surrounding areas...

A reminder to not drive through flood waters...

With all the previous rain, there are a lot of potholes around, so you do not know what may be hiding under the flood waters...

Take care and if you can, stay off the road.

The Australian Government is introducing a national alert system for emergencies and public health notifications in October 2026.

One week from today, on Monday 27 July 2026, at 2pm AEST, a test alert will be sent to all mobile devices (includes most phones, and some smart watches and tablets) in Australia.

You do not need to do anything, the alert will automatically happen.

‼️If this could cause you or a loved one to feel unsafe, please turn off your mobile devices or switch them to aeroplane mode before the scheduled test time in your location and leave them off for at least one hour.

As this is just a test, you don’t need to do anything. But in an actual emergency you should follow the alert instructions to help keep you safe.

This system DOES NOT replace the VicEmergency App.

There have been 9 ticket selling scam attempts on our previous post about our sold out Trivia Night. All these profiles have been reported, comments hidden and pages blocked.

If anyone has made contact with these scammers, I have a list of there names, please let us know immediately.

If you are someone who is needing to sell their tickets, please contact us, we have process that we follow.

If you are someone who is wanting to buy a ticket, please contact us and we will put you on a waitlist.

Please do not purchase tickets from anyone online. We will only ever ask you to buy tickets through our Humanitix sales.

If in doubt, please contact us directly before making any purchase.
