Below are photos from just a few of the tree planting days locally :-) . Its also great to use them as education days for schools or community events. All around the world re afforestation is happening . Unfortunately we are also cutting down the mature trees (that may take over as century to become a wildlife home here in OZ ) and contributing to deforestation :-( You cant just plant seedlings . Save habitat or it’s all just more smoke and mirrors from those who tick the boxes and write the legislation :

Well its National Tree Day so below is a sample of some of the thousands of trees on my place. it’s sad, and frustrating, that when others knock them over with bulldozers on surrounding properties they always say they are no hollow bearing trees. It’s sad that people can buy such properties and only think of ways they can make money form their land by felling trees, never just live with nature and see the true (non financial ) values :

Alan Stephenson was a legendary orchid conservationist who passed away some months ago. He visited Mount Rae forest many times and taught me a lot about native orchids, His enthusiasm for them was infectious. I haven’t had my lap top for a few months (and have also had issues with my car amongst other things ).Now I have access to my photos again, I will share (well overdue ) some of my memories of Alan and the orchids in the forest. Below is a pic of Al in front of a tiger orchid in the forest , looking very serious . Well you have to be when hunting tigers :-)
