Science- Stage 1
This week, Uncle Corey visited our Stage 1 classrooms to share knowledge about the Biripi seasonal calendar. Students explored significant events, local flora, and fauna, learning how nature changes throughout the year. This engaging experience is helping bring our Stage 1 Science curriculum to life with Indigenous perspectives.

This year, Taree West Public School proudly participated in National Science Week, providing all students with the opportunity to explore the wonders of science through engaging and hands-on experiences. Throughout the Day, students enthusiastically discussed the scientific method, learning how to ask questions, form hypotheses, and conduct experiments.
The highlight, for all, was the variety of experiments that allowed students to apply their knowledge in practical ways, fostering curiosity and a deeper understanding of scientific concepts. These hands-on activities not only made learning fun but also encouraged critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
National Science Week at Taree West Public School was a fantastic success, inspiring our students to appreciate the role of science in everyday life and sparking a passion for discovery that will continue to grow. We thank all staff and students for their enthusiasm and commitment to making this day so memorable.

Celebrating NAIDOC Week – 50 Years of Deadly 🖤💛❤️
What an incredible NAIDOC Week, which we celebrated in Week 3 at Taree West Public School! Throughout the week, our students enjoyed meaningful cultural learning experiences with Uncle Corey and Aunty Kristel, a special visit from Uncle Russ, our amazing “Deadly Doors and Windows”, and a wonderful celebration at our NAIDOC Assembly.
A heartfelt thank you to Uncle Corey, Aunty Kristel, Mrs Mills and our Aboriginal Education Team for the enormous amount of work, care and organisation that made the week so meaningful and memorable.
We are incredibly proud of our students and our whole school community as we continue to Walk Together – celebrating culture, strengthening connections and building respect and belonging for all. 🖤💛❤️
