🪙Our Athletes Compete on the National Stage🪙

There’s plenty to celebrate at Valley, with five of our athletes heading to Melbourne to compete at the Special Olympics Australia 2026 National Games!

A huge congratulations to Rebecca Lloyd, Adam Polley, Beau Polley, Emma Johnson and Ben Green, who will proudly represent our local Special Olympics community on the national stage.

Held in Melbourne this week, the National Games will bring together Special Olympics athletes from across Australia to compete in 12 sports. This year’s Games will be extra special, marking 50 years of Special Olympics changing lives through sport in Australia. Since 1976, Special Olympics Australia has created opportunities for athletes to compete, build friendships, develop confidence and, most importantly, be part of something bigger.
For Rebecca, Adam, Beau, Emma and Ben, reaching the National Games is a fantastic achievement and the result of plenty of training, competitions and commitment along the way and with the support of our local community who have been helping fundraise to make the trip possible.

Congratulations Rebecca, Adam, Beau, Emma and Ben, we’ll be cheering loudly for you. Watch out Melbourne, here they come!

💜🩷 Craft, Creativity and Connection: Celebrating Abilities Together 💜🩷

Earlier this week, Dundaloo and Valley Skills came together for a collaborative craft workshop, to create this year’s Celebrating Abilities Ball table centrepieces.

It was a wonderful opportunity for participants from both organisations to come together to share their creative skills and make new connections.

We enjoyed a morning of floral design, feathers and fabulous colours, followed by a lovely morning tea together, soaking up the sunshine in the Valley Skills Sensory Garden.

Most importantly, the day was about coming together and celebrating each person’s talent and contribution as one inclusive group.

💛 💛 HAVE YOU HAD A STROKE - OR KNOW SOMEONE WHO HAS? 💛 💛

Valley Industries is pleased to help spread the word about the ESTEEM Program, with a new research trial proposed for the Taree area in 2027.

Expressions of interest are now being sought from local people who may be interested in taking part.

The program brings together exercise with a physiotherapist, creative activities such as movement-to-music or visual arts, and the chance to socialise over morning tea with others living with stroke. It will run twice a week for 10 weeks.

If you or someone you know has experienced a stroke, this could be a wonderful opportunity to get active, connect with others and try something new right here in Taree.
