Hello Tarneit Senior College Community,

As part of our College Reporting, we run through three cycles of progress reports per semester. These are referred to as Engagement Progress Reports. Academic Reporting and feedback are communicated through Compass Learning Tasks and the At-Risk Process. This information can be accessed via Compass or communicated by the classroom teacher.

The Engagement Progress Reports will report on:
• Attendance
• Arriving to class on time
• Bringing the required equipment
• Use of class time
• Responding to feedback

The minimum benchmark for these behaviours is 75.00. It is vitally important that students are displaying these positive learning behaviours on a regular basis as they will have a direct impact on student academic growth and success.

For Parents or Guardians who are seeking further information or clarification around the Engagement Progress Reports, please contact the college at [email protected]

Kind regards,
Tarneit Senior College

Dear Students, Parents, and Guardians,

Wyndham City Council has advised us that there will be works starting this Monday, 27th of July, to relocate some telecommunications assets along Leakes Road between Penrose Promenade and Derrimut Road.

There are no planned road closures during these works; however, traffic management will be in place to help ensure the safety of workers and road users. The works will be conducted outside of school morning and afternoon drop-off and pick-up times. The works are expected to take approximately two months to complete.

These works are required to facilitate the Leakes Road Duplication project, which is scheduled to commence at the end of this year.

If you would like more information about the Leakes Road Duplication project, please visit Council's website: https://www.wyndham.vic.gov.au/project/leakes-road-duplication-tarneit-road-derrimut-road

Dear Students, Parents, and Guardians,

Bookings are now open in preparation for Year 10 Course Counselling, which will be held on Friday, 31st of July 2026. On this day, students will confirm their program and select subjects for their 2027 studies.

Appointments can be booked through the Compass Portal. Families who do not book an appointment by Wednesday, 29th of July 2026, will be allocated an appointment time, which will be communicated via email.

Please be aware that this is a class-free day for all current Year 10 students; however, attendance at each student's Course Counselling appointment is compulsory. Where a parent or guardian cannot attend, students must still attend to confirm their program and select subjects for 2027. Students and families who do not attend risk limiting subject choices due to class size capacities.

If you require support logging into your Compass account, please contact the College on 03 9749 0246.

Regards,
Tarneit Senior College

Dear parents and carers,

The Australian Education Union has called on its members to take strike action on Thursday 23 July 2026.

Based upon our current information, 44 of our Teaching and Education Support staff will be taking part in the strike action. As a consequence:

• students in Year 12, including all Unit 3/4 VCE and VCE-VM subjects will have a normal program, though there may have to be modifications with regards to the teacher and curriculum program
• students in our Year 11/12 VPC class will have a normal program, though there may have to be modifications
• Any Year 11 student accessing a Unit 3/4 subject can attend for the period of that class
• Any Year 11 student enrolled in VET Sport & Recreation can attend for the period of that class

Students in Years 10 & 11 are not required to attend unless they meet any of the criteria above

If this will cause you difficulties, in particular if you are a critical services worker, please get in touch as soon as possible.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Kind regards,
Tarneit Senior College
