Tarrawarra Lowlines

Tarrawarra Lowlines Lowline Cattle Stud Both properties are located close to Yarra Glen. The stud is owned and managed by Jacqui and Richard Feagan. We look forward to assisting you.

Tarrawarra Lowlines is located in the heart of the beautiful Yarra Valley in Victoria, Australia and operates across two properties; one at Tarrawarra (hence the stud name) and the other a short distance away at Steel’s Creek. Tarrawarra Lowlines is a member of the Australian Lowline Cattle Association (ALCA) and the Southern Region Promotional Group, Victoria (SRPG). The stud was established in 2

010, eighteen months after the devastating Black Saturday Bushfires of 2009. This life changing event set us on a new path and we purchased fifteen registered Lowline heifers from a number of studs, including Ardrossan, Yarra Ranges and Abaminga. Our breeding program is centred around this foundation of high quality females selected for their structural soundness, temperament and great bloodlines. We use proven AI export bulls over our females to produce exceptional calves. We had our first drop of calves in 2011 and we are delighted with the quality, consistency and growth of these yougsters. Our animals are grown out on grass in a free range, natural environment and are treated with respect and care at all times. Our cattle are well socialised and are used for cattle handling practice by a local Skills Training Provider. Environmentally sustainable farm management and habitat conservation for wildlife is also a very important aspect in the operation of Tarrawarra Lowlines. Please do not hesitate to contact us for further information.

Leonora calved as a 2 year old on Boxing Day last year and decided her newborn calf was nothing to do with her. Gave birth and left. It took a week or 10 days before she was completely bonded with her calf Noni. This year the calf is giving her the run around. ‘Little Miss everywhere’ won’t stay in one place and Mum is beside herself Poetic justice I reckon 😂 🥰

CORRECTION. FORGOT I DID A SMALL AI PROGRAM LAST YEAR. THIS GORGEOUS CALF IS BY CANN VALLEY LUCIFER😳💕
The first Illustrious calf of the season is built like the proverbial brick dunny 😄. His wonderful dam Tarrawarra Bron Bron (a Jamberoo daughter) is 13 years old but still cooked him to perfection after coming through a very tough time. Luckily the paddocks at home have bounced back temporarily, unless we get a lot of spring rainfall 😩

For years we have worked cattle at home without a head holder. Makes treating pink eye, ear tagging, putting in nose rings or even injecting an agitated cow etc that bit harder. Finally we bought a head holder for our Arrow Q Catch crush and Richard fitted it for me today. Should make life easier 😁

There is a maxim in stud cattle breeding that a beautiful, masculine head on a bull reflects the quality and conformation of the animal. I don't think you could get more beautiful head than this one. Meet Tarrawarra Legacy (AI), an Ardrossan Orient son and grandson of the wonderful Lilliput Lady Yasmin

Brought the 2022 heifers in today to clean them up and take off their Estrotect stickers. They are so easy to manage, totally food and scratches obsessed. They did have grain at weaning when they were in the yards for breaking in and they never forget. Makes life so easy 😁
