Trained members from Benalla and Chiltern Brigades will be door knocking in the Tatong community this weekend (11th and 12th of April 2026). They will be offering free property advice for bushfire safety. If you are not home and are interested in making use of this service, contact details will be made available for you to organise a time.

A big thank you to all of the Tatong CFA firefighters who have attended the Longwood fire ground as part of strike team 2311. Tatong has had members on every shift since Wednesday 7/01/26 which is a massive effort. Thank you to everyone who has assisted both at home and abroad keeping our community safe.

Tatong CFA has been fighting a large fire in the Longwood area all night, with plans to re-deploy tonight. Stay safe and ensure total fire ban restrictions are adhered to so that our firefighters can get a much needed rest today before another long night on the end of a hose.

Busy night last night for members of Tatong CFA. Multiple fires in the area of unknown origin, brought under control by CFA, FFM, helicopters and fixed wing aircraft. Everyone is reminded to stay safe especiallly in the next couple of days. It will be very hot and dry with extreme fire danger. Please be prepared and enact your fire plans.
