Our Year 3/4 Scientists are investigating the water cycle by collecting frog bog data to see how the frog bog changes from week to week!

Each week, students measure the frog bog, record temperature and rainfall, check the Bureau of Meteorology forecasts for the week ahead, and use this data to make and justify their predictions for the week ahead.

Even in the rain today (we had 2.5mm fall between 9am and 2pm), we were out collecting data, and making sure we were respectful of our gorgeous frog habitat at the same time.

Congratulations to our resident ducks who have welcomed 11 little ducklings into the world!

It brings so much joy to see them waddling around our school! (And we have had a giggle at the timing of this video...taken when the bell music was ringing)!

Please take a minute and vote for Brent Dakis- for a local hero award. This money would go a long way to continuing to bring Brent’s dream for The Forge Institute alive and support and connect our local youth, through the arts, with Ivy in our hearts, one of our beautiful past Patchies. ❤️Big heartfelt thanks to all that can take the time.

Our Grade 2 Sleepover was a huge success!! 🏕️

We started the night with afternoon tea and play time in the beautiful garden!🪾

Then we came up to the classroom for our first activity- pass the parcel! 🕺

Next was a very impressive newspaper fashion show, complete with a catwalk showcasing their amazing creations! 💃

We then began some of our games including egg and spoon race, balloon bouncing and squish the ball!! We even did it in the main corridor 🤫

Next we went out onto the prep deck for some sausage sizzle dinner and a juice (thanks so much to Paula and Alesha for cooking this!)🌭🧃

Afterwards we thought we would make the most of the leftover daylight so we headed to the oval for some outside time. We played tiggy (Indi and Hayden were VERY good at this) and had a play on the playground. 🏃‍♂️

Next it was time to set up camp! We all set up our gear in the Library and we used teamwork to get everyone’s mattresses in and ready! ⛺️

Then it was PJ and movie time with a special movie snack of popcorn! 🍿

It was then sleep time while our teachers got to enjoy a cheeseboard provided by the lovely Grade 2 parents (sooo kind and thoughtful- we can’t thank you enough!!) 🧀

In the morning we woke up for some brekky, did a big pack up (teachers are now professional sleeping bag packers) and said good bye!! 🥣

We couldn’t be prouder of this group of kids. There were some nerves as this was their first experience with a school camp/sleepover but EVERY single student stayed through the whole night with big smiles and happy attitudes!! What amazing kids they are with beautiful manners, kindness for each other and positivity! We are so proud of them all!! 🩷🩷🩷🩷🩷
