လာမည့် ဇွန်လ ၁၉ ရက်နှင့် ၂၀ ရက်နေ့တို့တွင် နော်ဝေးနိုင်ငံ၊ Froland မြို့ရှိ အောင်ဆန်းစုကြည်ပန်းခြံ (Aung San Suu Kyi Park) ၌ နိုင်ငံတော်အတိုင်ပင်ခံပုဂ္ဂိုလ် ဒေါ်အောင်ဆန်းစုကြည်၏ ၈၁ နှစ်ပြည့် မွေးနေ့အထိမ်းအမှတ် အခမ်းအနားနှင့် "နိုင်ငံရေးအကျဉ်းသားများ လွတ်မြောက်ရေး ကမ်ပိန်း" ကို စည်ကားသိုက်မြိုက်စွာ ကျင်းပပြုလုပ်သွားမည် ဖြစ်ပါသည်။

မြန်မာ့ဒီမိုကရေစီအရေးနှင့် မတရားဖမ်းဆီးခံ နိုင်ငံရေးအကျဉ်းသားအားလုံး လွတ်မြောက်ရေးအတွက် နိုင်ငံတကာအင်အားစုများ စုပေါင်းဆန္ဒထုတ်ဖော်မည့် ဤလှုပ်ရှားမှုသို့ မိတ်ဆွေများအနေဖြင့် တခဲနက် ပူးပေါင်းပါဝင်ပေးကြပါရန် လေးစားစွာ ဖိတ်ကြားအပ်ပါသည်။

The first goal scored today in Australia’s game against Turkeyia was by Nestory Irankunda, who
was born a Burundian refugee in Tanzania after his parents and siblings fled their home country due to the civil war in Burundi. He plays for the Australia national team. He is regarded as one of the best Australian players of his generation. They moved to Australia when he was 3 months old.

Please tell this to anyone who might be tempted to vote for a political party in a Federal or State election that denigrates, vilifies or wants to ban refugees from coming to Australia.

Refugees don’t want to be “takers” and very often aren’t. They have seen a way of life where they are unsafe and when they arrive here they just want to create a future that gives them the opportunity to do so. They bring their talents but also commitment and determination to succeed in their new country.
