Fire and Rescue NSW Station 451 Thredbo is currently seeking committed and community-minded individuals to join our team as on-call firefighters. This is a rewarding opportunity to serve the local community while gaining nationally recognised training and valuable life skills.

About the Role:

On-call firefighters respond to a wide range of emergency incidents including structural fires, bushfires, road accidents, and hazardous material incidents. They also participate in training, community education, and fire prevention activities.

This role is ideally suited to individuals with daytime availability—such as shift workers, stay-at-home parents, self-employed individuals, or those working from home—who are looking to contribute meaningfully to their community.

What We Offer:

• Paid part-time employment with flexible on-call hours.
• Extensive training, including advanced first aid and emergency response.
• Development of transferable skills such as teamwork, leadership, and problem-solving.

We are looking for additional on-call crew to join the existing team at Thredbo Fire Station to ensure it operates at its full capacity.

On-Call Firefighters play a crucial role in protecting people, property and the environment and attend incidents such as fires, chemical hazards, motor vehicle accidents as well as training sessions, community safety and education activities…..and did we mention you get paid to do all this!
