A man deserving of a spotlight post!
Yesterday, at the Southern Tablelands Long Service Medal Presentation, our very own James Turner was recognised for an extraordinary 60 years of volunteer service.
James began his volunteer journey in 1965 with the Mount Horeb RFS, where he served in multiple leadership roles, including an impressive 14 years as Captain. In 2018, he transferred to Gundary Brigade where he continues to stand as one of our Deputy Captains.
Across six decades, James has contributed tirelessly to both frontline operations and brigade leadership. He has maintained an extensive suite of firefighting qualifications - from Bush Firefighter and Advanced Firefighter through to Crew Leader and Control of a Level 1 incident - demonstrating a lifelong commitment to learning, safety and operational excellence.
James is known for his reliability, calm leadership and unwavering dedication to his community. His service record is exemplary and reflects the very best of the NSW Rural Fire Service.
James was presented his Long Service Medal with 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th Clasps, recognising his extraordinary 6 decades of service. What an incredible achievement, well done James!👏🏼👏🏼
