We haven't posted in a while. Joey season has been busy for us. 😔 This is little Barbie. Rescued after her mum was hit by a car leaving her orphaned and still alive in the pouch. So much thanks to the kind person who stopped and rescued her. She is in excellent care with Julie Coleman.

Update on little Dudley, the kangaroo joey who found himself caught in a barbed wire fence. We are very pleased to say that he has almost fully recovered. Here are the before and after shots 3 months apart.

This is Noah, a little rednecked wallaby who was found after his mum had been hit by car. So blessed to be able to care for this little mite. 🙏🦘😘

W H A T A D A Y
7:00 a.m. call to a sugar glider being rescued from a fence entanglement. Upon collection we identified this little critter as being a Squirrel Glider. Thank goodness the amazing team at Possumwood Wildlife Hospital were running a clinic today.
The photos below basically tell the story. Perhaps the most important visual is of the barbed wire which had been cut and bought with the glider still attached. This is the correct procedure for rescuing a glider who is caught on the barb. The injury was to his membrane and partly down to his leg but within a millimetre of puncturing his intestines.

We recently purchased baby rockers to help our Joey's settle easier when they come into care. Marsupial Joey's are always with their mum, so the gentle movement brings them comfort and contentment.
This little sweetheart was rescued yesterday by local girl Sonja Charles. We've named him Charlie. 💙🦘

This is a mumma roo reuniting with her Joey. We noticed something unusual about this Joey while doing feeding at the sanctuary this afternoon. We caught her and bought her in to find that she had facial injuries as well as a broken arm. We also recognised her to be the Joey of one of our doe's named Petunia.

This is Petuna's first Joey. We can only assume they have been chased by a fox as we have heard them calling at night.

In this unusual case of rescue, we have bought the Joey into care along with her mother who will continue milk feeding her baby while we reach out to wildlife vets for treatment of her broken arm.
