On Sunday, 23 August 2026, Toongabbie Legal Centre held the Multifaith Dedication and Blessing Ceremony for the land that will become the Justice Margaret Beazley Centre.
Our sincere thanks and deepest gratitude to all the religious leaders who blessed the land, the incredible performers, our volunteers, legal professionals, MPs, councillors from local councils, community leaders, supporters and all who attended. Your presence made this a truly meaningful celebration of faith, unity and community.
After 19 years of committed service, TLC has taken its first leap towards a dedicated building celebrating the contributions made to law and her guidance to TLC by the current Governor the Her Excellency the Honourable Margaret Beazley AC KC. This building will serve the community and to train law students to learn about the real world in which we all live.
As monumental as this is, there still an even longer road ahead until the completion of our building.
With ongoing generosity and support of the community, we can build a lasting home for TLC and make legal support accessible to the Western Sydney community.

In August, we welcomed our TLC volunteers for induction training, exploring their roles, responsibilities and ethical duties. From hearing insights from Mr Susai Benjamin to tackling client interview scenarios and meeting fellow volunteers, the day was all about preparing our student and solicitor volunteers to deliver quality support for our clients while creating a rewarding learning experience for everyone involved.

Toongabbie Legal Centre is proud to continue expanding access to justice through our second Outreach Legal Service at MECA, Mount Druitt. Every Wednesday, community members can access free and confidential legal advice and support close to home.
Because everyone deserves access to legal help when they need it most.

From supporting solicitors and assisting with client services to developing practical legal skills, our volunteers play an important role in helping us improve access to justice in the community.
