The Preps have been busy working on their Maths Rich Task the last two weeks. We focused on counting and representing quantities, comparing numbers and groups, using positional language, recognising and describing 2D and 3D shapes, measuring and comparing length, creating and following simple patterns and explaining their mathematical thinking. We had to create a Zoo! The Preps worked hard designing their draft zoo in their Maths books, and this week got to actually create their Zoos using hands on materials such as blocks, shapes, Lego, icy pole sticks and more! The Preps had SO much fun creating these! Well done on an amazing term of learning Preps. You are all stars ⭐️

This term in 6B, students have been thoroughly immersed in Kensuke’s Kingdom by Michael Morpurgo. Throughout our reading, they have explored the characters, themes and key events of the novel while developing their comprehension and inferential thinking skills. Students have worked incredibly hard on a range of activities and tasks in their Kensuke’s Kingdom folders, demonstrating fantastic effort and engagement throughout the unit. This week, we will reach the end of the novel, before enjoying the movie adaptation together next week!
