Toowong State School

Toowong State School Toowong State School, Prep to Year 6 Toowong is a beautiful historic school tucked away on a quiet suburban hill.

The school was founded in 1880 and even today it still retains much of its original character. Our school population reflects a rich cultural diversity that is celebrated at all levels of our school operations from Prep to Grade 6. The family nature of the school environment is supported and encouraged by staff and parents. Cultures of both deaf and hearing communities are valued and form an impor

tant part of the school program. Bilingual/bicultural education is about learning in two languages and cultures. In our program these languages are English and Auslan (Australian Sign Language) which are taught to all children in the school. Our volunteer team of parents and community members provides enrichment to the educative processes in our school.

🌟Happy Principals Day! 🌟

Today we celebrate our wonderful Principal, Mr Brendon Madden, and recognise the leadership, care and commitment he brings to our school community every day.

Being a principal means wearing an extraordinary number of hats — leader, problem-solver, supporter, advocate, listener, organiser and, quite often, fixer of things nobody else even knew needed fixing!

Mr Madden, thank you for supporting our students, staff and families; for guiding our school with kindness and dedication; and for everything you do, both out front and behind the scenes, to make our school such a special place to learn and belong.

We hope you know just how much you are appreciated. 🌟

Happy Primary Principals Day, Mr Madden!

💙 School Support Recognition Week 💙

This week, we celebrate the wonderful people who help our school thrive every day.

From our Business Manager and administration team, to our welcoming office staff, hardworking grounds staff, skilled IT technicians and visiting therapists, each person plays an essential role in supporting our students, staff and families.

Much of their work happens quietly behind the scenes, but its impact is felt across our entire school.

Thank you for your care, patience, expertise and hard work. We are so grateful for everything you do! 🌟
