Toowong State School Toowong State School, Prep to Year 6 Toowong is a beautiful historic school tucked away on a quiet suburban hill.

The school was founded in 1880 and even today it still retains much of its original character. Our school population reflects a rich cultural diversity that is celebrated at all levels of our school operations from Prep to Grade 6. The family nature of the school environment is supported and encouraged by staff and parents. Cultures of both deaf and hearing communities are valued and form an important part of the school program. Bilingual/bicultural education is about learning in two languages and cultures. In our program these languages are English and Auslan (Australian Sign Language) which are taught to all children in the school. Our volunteer team of parents and community members provides enrichment to the educative processes in our school.

Transition sessions for our 2027 Prep students are coming soon. These sessions allow your children to build familiarity with our wonderful Prep Team and school, while also getting to know their future classmates.

If your child will be starting Prep in 2027 and is not yet enrolled, please contact our school office today to begin the process.

🌟 **LITTLE HEROES, BIG IDEAS!** 🌟

Our Year 1 and 2 Lost Property Heroes have shown that young students can design solutions that make a genuine difference!

After investigating our school’s lost property problem, they created reminder posters for eating areas, Stop, Look, Check, Collect lunchbox tags and the wonderful Name It and Keep It Stall.

Across four mornings, our heroes checked an incredible 356 belongings:

👕 66 jumpers
👒 115 hats
🍱 69 lunchboxes
💧 106 drink bottles

Of these, 244 already had names and 112 were labelled at the stall - meaning 112 more belongings can now find their humans!

The students are also planning a bookmark to accompany new uniform purchases and remind families to label them before they arrive at school.

These little people identified a real-world problem, designed practical solutions and created meaningful change across their school. We are enormously proud of them! 💙🧡💚
