The Toowoomba Region Council manages 12 library branches including the Mobile Library Service, which residents of Queensland can join and enjoy free-of-charge. To become a Toowoomba Region Libraries member, all you will need is identification confirming your current Queensland residential address. Toowoomba Region Libraries offer extensive access to fiction and non-fiction collections, large print

collections, audiobooks, music CDs, DVDs, children and youth collections, Language Other Than English (LOTE) collection, and magazines. Toowoomba Region Libraries also offers free access to online resources, such as Borrowbox, Libby, Hoopla, Pressreader, Newsbank, and Beamafilm apps. Toowoomba Region Libraries are a community hub, offering vibrant programs for all ages, including First 5 Forever sessions for children aged 0 - 5, held in branches, and in the park. Digital Literacy and 1-on-1 tech classes, author talks and general interest workshops.

Flashback Friday - Toowoomba Court House and Post Office, Toowoomba, ca. 1930 - 1939

The north-western aspect of the Toowoomba Court House and the Post Office situated on the intersection of Margaret Street and Neil Street. The Court House was officially opened in 1879 and was used for court hearings until 1979. The Post Office, complete with clock tower, was Toowoomba's third post office and opened in 1878. Both buildings are now privately owned.

The costumes are on, there are books to be read,
We're all very sad, there's rain on our head.
Our session is cancelled but do not dismay,
We'll be back at Queens Park another day.

The First 5 Forever Talk + Read + Sing + Play session Book Week session scheduled for Queens Park has had to be cancelled due to wet weather.
