Chats & Cheers is a monthly event designed for Toowoomba’s young professionals to unwind, connect, and raise a glass in a relaxed setting. Come along to catch up with others under 35 and grow your network in a space that encourages genuine friendships; not just ‘connections’.

Last week’s Toowoomba Young Chamber Chats & Cheers brought a great crowd together at Bone Idol Brewery, with plenty of relaxed networking, genuine conversations, and new connections made along the way.

Designed to be an easy, approachable space for young professionals, the night lived up to its purpose - good people, great chats, and a few well-earned drinks to round it out.

Last Thursday night, Faith, Mia and Talia attended Chats and Cheers, a relaxed networking event hosted through the Young Chamber community in Toowoomba.

Chats and Cheers brings together young professionals in a casual setting to socialise, build genuine connections and catch up outside the usual work environment. Young Chamber provides a platform for emerging professionals and business operators to connect, grow and be part of the broader local business community.

It was a great opportunity to catch up with colleagues, meet new people and enjoy conversations that strengthen both professional and community connections.

As part of Queensland Small Business Month, our friends over at the BJCC - Brisbane Junior Chamber of Commerce are conducting a survey of small business owners aged 18-40yrs across South East Queensland.

They're collecting insights into:

• current business challenges
• growth opportunities
• wellbeing and work-life balance
• future priorities for young business owners

The collective insights will be shared at the Brisbane Small Business Expo and with the Queensland Department of Customer Services, Open Data and Small and Family Business to help support future conversations and initiatives for young small business owners.

The survey takes around 2 minutes to complete.

Toowoomba Chamber of Commerce’s annual RSM Federal Budget Breakfast brought together local business leaders to unpack the key announcements from the 2026 Federal Budget. Representing Toowoomba Young Chamber, Kate and Mak attended to hear expert insights on what the budget may mean for businesses and individuals across the region.

The budget was described as a bold and somewhat daring one, with Mayor Geoff McDonald offering a more cautious and critical perspective, while Professor Fabrizio Carmignani from UniSQ viewed it as a positive budget with opportunities for growth and confidence.

The key takeaway was to avoid making any rash decisions. While several measures were announced, the practical impact will depend on when and how the legislation is passed, so it is important to wait until the details are formally enacted before determining the best course of action.
