π I thought I made a dinner reservation for $15 but $156 came out of my bank account π
ANYWAY, we embrace the chaos after thinking "holy f**k how can a ramen place cost $80 per person."
I walk in and it's this 16 person communal table, sensory deprivation vibes + art + the most wonderfully pleasant music creating a full sensory experience.
There were quite a few courses and a few Yuzu sakes before the main event of ramen and HOLY. There's this whole way to do it where you start at the front of the bowl and as you eat it, the flavours change by the moment. I was experiencing it in real time π€―
It was a massive bowl and it tasted so good and flavourful that I never wanted it to end as I felt myself growing fuller. You're encouraged to slurp it and have a time. It got me thinking about how fun life can be. Food is life to me if you can't tell but damn that was such a playful and fun experience. I then checked back in the dining card and it said the whole experience is meant to make you think about "what it means to eat and to live, and to celebrate the delight of living."
I then got sentimental because it turns out I actually dedicate my work to that, especially when you add in the waiting disorders work I do π everything is bloody connected, isn't it? Then it also talked about that on the card too π
Food as art experience got me good + in the feels as all good art does.
May you enjoy food as the playground of life sometimes on this floating rock we're on.
