GRANT OPPORTUNITY | The Regional Arts Development Fund (RADF) promotes the role and value of arts, culture and heritage as key drivers of diverse and inclusive communities and strong regions. RADF invests in local arts and cultural priorities, as determined by local communities, across Queensland.

RADF supports arts and cultural activities that:

➡️ increase access to arts and cultural experiences in regional Queensland
➡️ grow employment and capacity building opportunities for artists and arts workers across regional Queensland
➡️ deliver on local arts and cultural priorities and promote the value of arts culture and heritage.

For 2026-27, Toowoomba Regional Council will offer competitive community Regional Arts Development Fund (RADF) grants. Applications can be made by individual emerging and established artists, producers and creative practitioners, businesses, registered not-for-profit organisations, groups and collectives.

Applications can be for professional development, creation and or presentation of new work or projects. Applications can be for major or minor activities within these categories. Priority will be given to applications that best address the assessment criteria.

🧑🤝🧑We're hosting a Not-for-Profit Organisation Capacity Building Workshop.

The workshop sessions will be held from 5.30pm to 8.30pm on Tuesday 20 October across seven locations throughout our Region.

The workshop will provide an opportunity to learn more about the legal roles of committee/board members, the legal structure and status of your organisation, the importance of rules/constitution and more.

Light snacks and tea and coffee will be provided at each session.

Check for hidden batteries before you bin it!

Many everyday items contain hidden batteries, including toys, vapes, watches, power tools, greeting cards and even flashing shoes. 🪫

When batteries are placed in bins, they can be crushed and start fires, putting people, vehicles and infrastructure at risk.

Never put batteries in your bin. 🚯

💛 A big cheer for our amazing carers!

This National Carers’ Week, we’re celebrating the kindness and dedication of unpaid carers across the Toowoomba Region.

💧 Smart water meters are making a big difference across the Toowoomba Region!

More than 64,500 smart water meters have now been installed across the Region, taking the rollout to over 95% complete.

The technology is already helping people identify leaks sooner, with more than 13,500 alerts generated this financial year. As a result, an estimated 465 million litres of water have been saved, enough to fill around 186 Olympic-sized swimming pools. 🏊

Almost 13,500 households are also using the Toowoomba Water App to track their water use, receive alerts and potentially avoid costly leaks.

The rollout is delivering lasting benefits, helping to protect one of our Region’s most valuable resources.

♻️ Kerbside collection days aren't changing, but your bin may be collected at a different time of day from next week.

To avoid missing your service, please place your bin out:
✅ By 5:00am on your collection day, or
✅ The night before, where it is safe to do so.

The kerbside collection contractor has advised time changes will help accommodate increased green waste volumes, improve collection efficiency, and support growth across our Region.
