What a fantastic start to this new chapter!

Our very first service at our new home, 6E Leo Lewis Close, Toronto, was a huge success, with more than 50 households accessing support on our opening day.

It was wonderful to welcome so many familiar faces through the doors, along with new guests visiting us for the first time. From pantry items and fresh produce to friendly conversations, hot drinks and practical support, the space was buzzing with activity all day.

We’re incredibly excited about what lies ahead and can’t wait to continue serving our community from our new home.

All of our usual services will resume tomorrow from our NEW location at 6E Leo Lewis Close, Toronto (directly across from CALM).

From tomorrow onwards, NourishEd will continue operating during our regular hours:

After months of planning, hard work and community support, we’re incredibly excited to welcome you into our new space. This new facility will allow us to support more people, expand our services, and continue creating a warm, welcoming place for everyone in our community.

This morning our wonderful volunteers officially opened our brand new home at 6E Leo Lewis Close, Toronto.

Thank you to everyone who attended our opening today. We’re so proud to preview our new home.

Over the coming year, thousands of people will walk through these doors. Families experiencing financial pressure, seniors struggling with the rising cost of living, young people seeking support, individuals facing homelessness, isolation, mental health challenges or simply needing a helping hand. This space will be a place where people are welcomed without judgement, treated with dignity and reminded that their community cares about them.

This larger facility will allow us to significantly expand our impact. It gives us the capacity to grow our food relief programs, increase the number of people we support, create new opportunities for connection and launch additional services designed to address not only immediate needs but also the long-term challenges that many people face. We envision this becoming a true Hub of Help - a place where practical support, education, recovery programs, community services and genuine human connection come together under one roof. We’ve built spaces dedicated for external supports and hairdressing programs that we look forward to launching soon.

Together, we are building something truly special, and while today is a celebration of what has been achieved, it is also an exciting glimpse of what is still to come.

This move has been a massive investment not just for NourishEd but for our community. Our new home will enable our growth and significantly increase our capacity to help those in need across Lake Mac. We cannot wait to show you.

We are proud to host one of the most accessed pantries in Lake Macquarie - right here in Toronto.

So far in 2026, our pantry has recorded 2,713 visits (equating an average of 136 people per week, however over the last month our average guest numbers have surpassed 170).

Our open pantry is stocked with fresh produce, bakery items, frozen goods, meat, pantry staples, pet supplies, hygiene products and everyday essentials — all provided to support vulnerable and disadvantaged members of the Lake Macquarie community. Our doors are open to anyone who needs help.

Some guests visit us weekly, while others come during moments of crisis — after a missed pay cheque, unexpected bill, job loss, relationship breakdown, illness or hardship.

Behind every visit is a real person with a story, a struggle and a life beyond their circumstances. Each week we support single parents, veterans, older residents, people experiencing homelessness, individuals facing financial hardship, and those simply trying to get through an incredibly difficult season of life.

At NourishEd, we believe nobody should have to face hunger, hardship or isolation alone.

The floors have been laid, doors have been delivered and we're preparing the installation of our internals walls and service spaces.

This move is big not just for NourishEd but for Lake Mac, we're building a hub of hope and help, a place where anyone in our region can turn to for food and friendship.

We receive no government funding and are powered entirely by the collective support of our community, with every contribution - big or small - helping us continue supporting those who need it most.

3,000 Meals in 2026!

We are so proud to share that our legendary Kitchen Team have produced over 3,000 meals so far in 2026! That’s 3,000 meals distributed for FREE to Lake Macquaries most vulnerable and at risk.

That’s a rough average of 158 meals every week since we reopened for the year.

What started in April 2025 in a volunteers home kitchen has grown into a full scale operation with a team working out of a commercial kitchen in Rathmines.

Thank you to everyone who has supported our kitchen project and our major kitchen sponsors Toronto Workers Club and Wests Cardiff.

Every week our kitchen program is growing and we look forward to kicking many goals and milestones throughout the year.

We’re incredibly proud to support school communities across Lake Macquarie. 💛

For the past 6 months, NourishEd Australia has proudly partnered with Toronto High School, providing their amazing wellbeing team with boxes of food, snacks and essential items to support students and families doing it tough within the school community.

We know that when families are struggling, it impacts every part of life, including education. Being able to support young people with practical assistance, care and dignity is something we’re deeply passionate about and we are grateful to Toronto High for their commitment to ensuring their students are well supported.
