Bellarine, Greater Geelong and Great Ocean Road Kids are designed for anyone who has the pleasurable company of kids. Particularly, parents, guardians, carers, aunts, uncles, grandparents, and siblings who live in or are visiting the Bellarine and who would like some help with finding anything and everything local for their children to explore, eat, play, see or shop. www.bellarinekids.com.au and
www.greatergeelongkids.com.au are currently a great hub for advertising local retail or hospitality businesses, homemade clothing, baking, toy lines, groups, children's programs etc, and is guaranteed an easy site for users to navigate. ‘Great Ocean Road Kids’ will also be linked to ‘Bellarine Kids’ and ‘Greater Geelong Kids’ and we will all work together to promote the local goodness that the Bellarine, Geelong and the Great Ocean Road areas provide. Bellarine Kids joined Facebook late 2011. We continually receive positive feedback via posts on Facebook, personal emails and after speaking to many business owners. This page has linked members and child friendly services and businesses within the Bellarine and Greater Geelong community, and has re directed users’ to businesses and also to the Bellarine and Greater Geelong Kids’ websites. In this time, with the help of the great social network site Facebook and also through word of mouth, magazine, newspaper, flyer exposure and event participation our website stats have more than doubled since January 2014! Whilst ‘word of mouth’ is fantastic, it is easy to forget the name of that place or that business that is having lunch specials or where/when the next children's market is! When I have sat with fellow parents at a Mother's Group or simply on a park bench watching the children play, I have noticed how similar conversations inevitably occur. I have found that people are more than willing to share their expertise when asked and that there is an abundance of local talent and resources right here within our community. It's great to know where that 'home-made' dress came from or even where to get your child's first haircut. Along with Bellarine and Greater Geelong Kids, Great Ocean Road Kids will be an information portal that contains all of the answers to the things parents and caregivers like to know. A quick search on an unplanned day could also result in: the location of a new recreational park, identification of a great local business deal such as a two for one smoothie at a nearby café, and a reminder that Storytime is on at the local library. Thanks to Bellarine, Greater Geelong and/or Great Ocean Road Kids’, an unplanned day could easily turn into a fulfilling morning! Stacey, the Bellarine Kids creator, has lived in Ocean Grove with her husband and three daughters since January 2008. Stacey has been working with children for over fifteen years, as an indoor sports coordinator, in various crèche and daycare centres, and also as a graphic artist. Since relocating to Ocean Grove Stacey is currently employed as a COGG school holiday program educator, casual sales assistant and a personal trainer. Stacey’s most important job, is as a stay at home mother of three young girls. It is in this very busy role that she has recognised the need for an easy to access and community relevant site that specialises in all things for kids on the Bellarine and in the Geelong and Great Ocean Road areas. My name is Michelle and I live in Torquay. I am a mother of two, soon to be three boys, and we are always on the go. We love all that Torquay and the Great Ocean Road has to offer and try to join in as many of these activities as time allows (it also wears the tigers out!). I was previously working in HR and I am really enjoying the ability to be at home whilst the children are young and at the same time, research local businesses that benefit my children and the greater community. Following on from the great success and feedback from our websites Bellarine Kids and Greater Geelong Kids - Great Ocean Road Kids has been developed to help link families with child friendly services on and around the Great Ocean Road. I am excited to bring it to you and look forward to helping you to tell your story. You can now be a part of ‘Bellarine Kids’ on Facebook and on www.bellarinekids.com.au and also follow ‘Greater Geelong Kids’ on Facebook and on www.greatergeelongkids.com.au
We are almost ready to launch our newest venture www.greatoceanroadkids.com.au, so stay tuned!
