Good afternoon all,

This is just a timely reminder heading into the fire season, that our volunteer crews work roadside, just like our friends over at Round Mountain Rural Fire Brigade who were working on the side of North shore boulevard today.

To protect not only us as we conduct our duties, but also other road side workers, Queensland introduced the SLOW DOWN, MOVE OVER law. Unlike other states that require you to slow to a certain speed, which in most states is 40Kmh, Queensland law is more simpler, slow down if safe to do so and move over. This gives us a safe space to work in, so we can protect the community from the threat of fire.

Whilst we, as volunteers, understand and accept that our duties come with risk, we all need to do our little part to help minimise that risk as much as possible. We ask that all people who drive on our roads, to take the time to read the link below, so we all can work and travel on our roads safely. This is about all of us returning home safely. Thank you.

Residents in the Black River area, particularly around Gieseman Road, are advised that the Black River Rural Fire Brigade will be conducting a hazard reduction burn on behalf of the property owner at 521 Gieseman Road on Sunday the 24th from 10:00am, weather permitting.

Multiple brigade crews will be in attendance during the operation. Smoke may be visible in the area throughout the day.

A dead-end track may lead the way,

While bus stops nearby may hide one too 👀

If you find the place but no egg can be seen,
Please let us know where it may have been.
