Like most Australians, you’d be concerned at the direction our country is taking. Just as concerning is the fact that Labor and the Coalition are not only doing nothing about it, they loath to acknowledge it is something they can, or should address. They talk about Australia being the ‘food bowl’ for Asia, while running our rural industries into the ground. They slavishly ‘spruik’ the open market

mantra, while all other countries have market entry restricted, as they see necessary. They and many of our industry representative bodies are in the hands of multi-nationals and have no interest in protecting Australian jobs and the opportunities available to our children and future generations. The jobs aren’t there. Talk to their parents, and you’ll know the companies which offered those jobs in business management, marketing and HR, no longer have offices outside Sydney or Melbourne, if they exist at all. Now even jobs in the education and health sectors are scarce. And that is why:

It’s time for a new kind of government
- Do you want government to continue ignoring our huge loss of jobs in manufacturing?
- Do you want your assets sold to create a monopoly which will charge you a ‘fortune’ for their use?
- Do you want Kevin, Julia or Tony’s idea of a ‘level playing field’, or do you want a fair playing field for all in Australia?
- Do you want government to continue to throw money at problems (eg, education) when it’s not the solution?
- Do you want our environment managed according to science, or a political agenda?
- Do you want our rural sector to collapse, our farmers to abandon the land, and our nation to depend on imported food?
- Do you want government run by failed bureaucrats or the best brains at our country’s disposal? Labor and Liberal, no matter who their leader, will give us more of the same, (with slight variations on a predictable theme), just as they’ve done for the last decade. It’s time for a new kind of government. A government of substance, not ‘spin’. Bob Katter and his team, with the ‘balance of power’ will:
1. Mandate premium shelf space in Coles, Woolworths and Aldi for Australian grown and processed foods.
2. Mandate all government cars will be Australian made if ‘fit for purpose’
3. Stop the sale of public assets.
4. Introduce and apply the right KPI’s (Key Performance Indicators) to the performance assessment and remuneration of all bureaucrat managers.
5. Education reform to support better PD and remuneration of Principals and Teachers linked to the results they produce over time with regard to the students they teach.
6. Eliminate the Carbon Tax, prevent an emissions trading scheme and promote the efficient use of biofuels and carbon reduction technologies.
7. End to the ‘Nanny State’. Katter’s Australian Party has a strong team of candidates, who with the ‘balance of power’ and the strength of public opinion, will produce the new kind of government that our country so desperately needs. We, Katter’s Australian Party feel that an open dialogue between ourselves and members of the general public is beneficial to truly understanding the needs of our great nation. 🗣BRISBANE DOESN’T ALWAYS KNOW BEST.

In Brisbane, you can travel across the city for 50 cents.

But across Western and regional Queensland, getting where you need to go can mean hundreds of kilometres and hundreds of dollars.

If you live in Mount Isa, Cloncurry, Longreach, Charleville, Roma, Emerald, Charters Towers, the Gulf or Cape York, seeing a specialist or receiving medical treatment can mean hours on the road or a flight and several nights away from home.

👉Yet the Patient Travel Subsidy Scheme pays just 34 cents a kilometre and $70 a night for accommodation.

That’s the difference between Brisbane priorities and regional realities.

Whether you live in the North West, Central West, South West, Gulf or Far North, your postcode shouldn’t determine whether you can afford to access healthcare.

💰Regional Queenslanders pay taxes too. They deserve policies that recognise distance, cost and reality not one-size-fits-all thinking from Brisbane.

If Brisbane can find 50-cent fares for the south-east, it can find a fairer deal for Queenslanders travelling hundreds of kilometres for medical care.

🩺 CHILDREN’S SAFETY MUST COME FIRST

KAP’s Shane Knuth has backed Dr Jillian Spencer in Parliament after Queensland Health publicly apologised and reached a private settlement with her.

More than 8,000 Queenslanders signed KAP’s petition supporting Dr Spencer.

Doctors must be free to question treatment models and advocate for cautious, evidence-based care without fear of professional punishment.

👉 Now the Minister must act make the pause permanent.

🚨Situation Critical: Property Rights, Trust in Government Steamrolled

The KAP are clearly now the only party in Queensland prepared to push back against big gas companies and stick up for the rights of farmers and indeed all landholders in Queensland. After the Queensland government rammed through controversial laws enabling land to be resumed and handed to private developers.

What a great night!

The parade entrants outdid themselves once again, and it was fantastic to see so many people lining Main Street to cheer them on.

👏 Congratulations to the Tablelands Maize Festival team, volunteers and everyone involved in putting together another fantastic event for the community.

⏰ TIME IS RUNNING OUT

When someone goes missing, their family deserves to know that every possible avenue is being explored to find them.

Robbie Katter MP is sponsoring a parliamentary petition calling for a review of how rewards are considered in long-term missing-person cases across Queensland.

The petition is also calling for a reward to be considered in the case of missing South Burnett man Jack McLennan, where new information could help provide desperately needed answers.

The bigger issue is making sure Queensland has a reward process that is consistent, transparent and accessible when it could help generate new information and resolve a missing-person case.

⏰ The petition closes tomorrow, 1 September.

🏠 10 HOMES. SITTING EMPTY. FOR NEARLY TWO YEARS.

In the middle of a housing crisis, 10 purpose-built residences at Cootharinga Gardens in Babinda remain vacant.

Shane Knuth MP took the issue straight to the Housing Minister in Parliament.

Community housing providers are willing to step in. The buildings are already there. Yet almost two years later, people are still waiting while the bureaucracy goes around in circles.

Shane asked the Minister to get the Department, Cootharinga and Cairns Regional Council around the table and get these residences reopened and people housed.

The Minister says the State is ready to move but is waiting on Cairns Regional Council.

Enough passing the buck. Get everyone around the table, sort it out and get these homes open.

👉 10 empty residences during a housing crisis how does that make sense?

🤠🤷‍♂️ IS THERE A MORE INSIDIOUS REASON BEHIND MIGRATION NUMBERS? 🤷‍♂️🤠

92% of migrants, and similar portion of student visa holders, reside in Melbourne, Sydney and, to a lesser extent, Brisbane.

Places where there is almost no industry, no jobs and no accommodation.

Are immigrants just being ‘farmed’ into key Labour electorates to keep the government in power?

Bob Katter’s latest episode of Wisdom Mongrel Patriot discusses this and many other key issues relating to the latest laws before Parliament.
