On Friday our brigade bid a final farewell to our comrade, mate and Brigade Life Member, Simon Lund.
Lundy’s last lap past Traralgon West Fire Station was a deeply moving tribute to a man who dedicated his life to the service of others and his community. He was not just a firefighter; he was a fierce ally to everyone he met, an advocate for all that was unjust and an all round bloody good bloke.
Lundy was the kind of guy who made an impact; not with grand gestures, but with his integrity, his loyalty, and his sheer determination to make things better for those around him.
Though we say goodbye, his spirit will remain in every person who stands up for what is right, in every mate who watches out for his own and in every act of service that carries his legacy forward.
Rest easy, Lundy. We’ll take it from here.
To Tracie, Cooper, Matilda and Kate, you will always be a part of the Traralgon West Fire Brigade family. Thankyou for sharing Simon with us, and for allowing us to participate in his celebration of life.
We would also like to extend a heartfelt thank you to our CFA, FRV and District 27 colleagues who allowed us to participate fully in Fridays proceedings. With special thanks to Wayne and the crew at Morwell Fire Brigade and Hayley, Mark and Justin from Yallourn North Urban Fire Brigade We appreciate you all for the part you played in helping us give Simon his final TWest send off.
